Commissioner’s Report – Aaron Anderson • RHSAA financial report for September 2018 to January 2019 is attached. • Aaron reviewed all sports and the costs associated with them. • Football was considerably more profitable in 2019 as opposed to 2018 because the cost of security ended up 50% lower at Mosaic Stadium. Motion: That the financial report be accepted as prepared and presented. Motion: Jason Coleman Second: Scott Bridgeman CARRIED a) Football • Headsets – original quote was $10 000 minus $5000 trade plus $153.80 shipping US = $5153.80 US. (6 home and 6 away headsets) The second quote I received for 5 home and 5 away headsets was $8500.00 US minus our 50% trade of our 2014 purchased headsets plus $153.80 US shipping puts us in at $4403.80 US which is approx. $6000 CDN. It will also cost us an estimated $300 to ship the old ones back to Rhode Island. - Aaron applied for a grant through Football SK to see if any monies are available to contribute to amateur football. Football SK can grant 60% of the funds toward projects ($3600), but our 13 teams have to show 40% in fundraising ($2400/13 teams = $185 per team) before being considered. Football Coaches were emailed on Monday, February 4 to ask how they fundraised the dollars needed to proceed. Very cooperative. - Mosaic Stadium is out of commission from October 14 – November 1, 2019 inclusive because of the NHL Heritage Classic Hockey Game. Aaron requested Leibel Field for our league games, Regional playoff game and City Finals during those three weeks (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) - Back up plans would include fields at Luther College High School, Sheldon-Williams Collegiate and the University of Regina. Leibel Field - Dressing Room Fees - January 30, 2019, Len Antonini from RMF and myself verbally agreed to a deal that will give us usage for every game at Leibel Field this year and there will likely be many. Each team/school in our league will be charged $100 + GST per team for the 2019 season. $1300 + GST total. Mosaic Stadium - the City of Regina has confirmed a 2.5% security cost increase for the 2019 season. Last year ended up being $425 per double header, this year it will be $436. A single header in 2018 was $309. It will be $317 in 2019. b) Cross Country: • The 2019 SHSAA Cross Country Championship is Saturday, October 12, 2019 the same weekend as Thanksgiving in Prince Albert.
