Relative to commending and congratulating Felemenio (Peter) P. Chamberlain on the special occasion of his retirement after more than twenty-four (24) years of dedicated, professional, and exceptional service with the Guam Fire Department; and to further extending a sincere Un Dlingkolo Na Si Yu'os Ma'lise' and best wishes to him in his future endeavors on behalf of I Liheslaturan Gulihan and the people of Guam. l BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMJ\;UTTEE ON RULES OF I 2 111/JVA 'TRE1VTAI TRES 2VA LIHESLATURAl'/ GUAHA1V:

3 WHEREAS, ~1r. Felemenio P. Chamberlain, better known to his family and 4 friends as "Peter," was born on December 20, 1950; and is the son of proud parents, 5 Ernesto Phillip Chamberlain and Dolores Salas Quichocho; and

1 \VHEREAS, Peter celebrates his retirement with his wife of forty-three (43) 2 years, Antonia Manglona Chamberlain; their five (5) children: Hansel Franklin, 3 Allison Denise, Andrew Phillip, Ursula Manglona, and Hope Manglona Chamberlain; 4 their eighteen ( 18) wonderful grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; and 5 WHEREAS, Peter is a Veteran, and he retired from the United 6 States Air Force in September 1990 after serving as an Air Craft Mechanic and Line 7 Chief on a B-52 Bomber; and he was such a dedicated serviceman that on the night of 8 his wedding day, he was called and he responded to his duty to prepare the planes for 9 Operation Linebacker II during the Vietnam War; and he was also involved in I 0 Operation New Life in 1976 which was the evacuation and care of Vietnamese 11 refugees from Saigon; and 12 WHEREAS, Peter began his career with the Guam Fire Department on 13 December 20, 1991 working as a Fire Recruit; and with hard work and dedication he 14 was promoted to the position of Firefighter I in May 1992 after graduating from the 15 Fire Academy; and 16 WHEREAS, during his career, Peter had received an Associate of Science 17 degree from Fire Science Technology that provided him with the skills, knowledge 18 and ability to perform the necessary duties of a Firefighter; and 19 WHEREAS, in April 1994, Peter received a Certificate of Appreciation for his 20 work and assistance in the 1994 Micronesian Games; and 21 \VHEREAS, Peter was promoted to the position of Fire Captain on March 20, 22 1998 after showing exemplary leadership and performing duties beyond his title; and 23 \VHEREAS, Peter has a strong love of sports and has been a member of the 24 Guam Masters Basketball Association since 1997; and every year, he travels with his 25 team to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the World Masters Tournament. He has also 26 been a member of the Guam Seniors Softball League since 1995; and

2 1 WHEREAS, now that Peter is retired from the Guam Fire Department, he will 2 spend much of his time golfing, bowling, and enjoying the company of his wife and 3 family. Some of his plans for retirement include possibly working for the airline 4 industry in hopes of putting his twenty (20) years of aviation experience to good use; 5 as well as possibly running for Mayor and using his leadership skills to better our 6 island; now therefore, be it 7 RESOLVED, that the Committee on Rules of I Mina'Trentai Tres Na 8 Liheslaturan Guahan does hereby, on behalf of I Liheslaturan Guahan and the people 9 of Guam, commend and congratulate Felemenio (Peter) P. Chamberlain on the 10 occasion of his retirement after more than twenty-four (24) years of dedicated, 11 professional, and exceptional service with the Guam Fire Department; and does 12 further extend a sincere Un Dangkolo 1Va Si Yu'os Ma'ase' and best wishes to him in 13 his future endeavors; and be it further 14 RESOLVED, that the Speaker and the Chairperson of the Committee on Rules 15 certify, and the Legislative Secretary attest to, the adoption hereof, and that copies of 16 the same be thereafter transmitted to Felemenio (Peter) P. Chamberlain; to Chief Joey 17 San Nicolas, Guam Fire Department; and to the Honorable Edward J.B. Calvo, I 18 Maga'lahen Guahan.
