A journey of discernment, dialogue and discovery for establishing a missionally and organizationally effective movement: a movement that is making disciples, developing leaders of diverse people groups, multiplying churches and missional congregations, and becoming a movement of movements. COVENANT CHURCH A Covenant Church voluntarily enters a written covenant agreement, in which it pledges to adhere to Foursquare’s bylaws and to operate fully as a local Foursquare church. In turn, The Foursquare Church pledges to provide the same covering and care to a local Covenant Church that would be given to a Foursquare Charter Church. It is a show that has caught the attention of the Iranian community of art enthusiasts located in Southern California from long ago. Shahrokh Yadegari has adapted the script for The Scarlet Stone based on a poem with the same title by Siavash Kasrai. However, this work of art has gone beyond the distinguished poem of Siavash Kasrai by telling a story as long as the history of Iran itself through an amazing return to the Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, and in the process, adding in a new form to the Iranian art history in diaspora. The Scarlet Stone is an allegory of the emblem given to Tahmineh by Rostam, the Iranian mythological hero, so that if their child was born a girl, she would tie the emblem to their daughter’s hair and to his arm if the child was a boy. In this way, the warrior father could identify his child. Rostam and Sohrab is one of the most importnat stories of the Shahnameh. Alas! Rostam recognizes the scarlet stone tied to the arm of his thriving son too late --- the moment when no elixir is effective against the father’s imposed deep wound on the son’s lifeless body.

    The Need for Teaching the Eschatological Gospel of Both Comings of Jesus Christ in the 21st Century . 4.1 ESCHATOLOGICAL CHRONOLOGY Part 1 laid out the biblical and theological foundation for this study of the Eschatological Gospel of Both Comings of the Lord Jesus Christ by defining pertinent terms and concepts. Then both the Old and New Testaments’ usage of the Eschatological Gospel and related concepts was addressed (e.g., kingdom of God/heaven, age or world to come, salvation history, kairos versus chronos time, Parousia/Second Coming of Jesus, etc.). This was done in light of the Parable of the Wheat and Tares/Weeds showing that both the kingdom of God (based on the orthodox Eschatological Gospel) and the kingdom of Satan (based on the heretical/“false” gospel) were to coexist on the earth until “the end of the age.” Part 2 then reviewed the historical foundation of the Eschatological Gospel throughout the Church Age. The firm and sure foundation laid by Jesus and His Apostles was the starting point, which was immediately followed by the Early Church Fathers, and then stretched well into the eighth century. There remained a small stream of Eschatological Gospel teaching spanning the rest of the Medieval Church Period, that led up to the Pre-Reformation Period and the beginning of the resurgence of the doctrine. This then continued to build through the Reformation and Post-Reformation periods well into the eighteenth century and culminated with the “birth” of Dispensationalism through Edward Irving and John Nelson Darby in the 1830s. This exploded throughout the rest of the nineteenth century and into the twentieth century; which in turn led to the founding of several churches, evangelical ministries and even one seminary upon the Eschatological Gospel (e.g., Plymouth Brethren, Christian and Missionary Alliance, Assemblies of God, Dispensational Baptists, Church of the International Foursquare Gospel, Billy Graham’s and Oral Roberts’ ministries, and Dallas Theological Seminary).

The Chief of Air Staff studied at Wesley High School Secunderabad and was commissioned into the Air Force in 1967. He is a graduate of the National Defence College and of the Army War College. He has flown over 700 hours on the Sentinal, T6G, Mi-4, Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters. He commanded the first Indian Mi-17 Squadron at the world’s highest battlefield on the Siachen glacier and another in battle as part of the peace keeping force in Sri Lanka. As Station Commander Sirsawa he personally led a daring and successful rescue mission to help 11 tourists who were helplessly trapped in a disabled cable car over a deep gorge in Himachal. I actually happened to witness a part of this rescue. The Air Chief has, during his distinguished career held a number of important field and staff appointments. These include Director Operations for Transport & Helicopters, Air Officer Commanding in Leh, Assistant Chief of the Air Force, Deputy Chief of Integrated Staff Operations and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Air Command before being appointed Chief of Air Staff on March 31, 2007.

    Part Three: 3.20, The Evolution of the Name(s) Ahura, Mazda. Evolution of the Name(s) Mazda, Ahura. In the Gathas, Zarathushtra calls the Divine by many different names.1 But in this chapter, I will limit the discussion to the names he uses most often -- mazdA- and ahUra-, and combinations of these two, because they are the names most associated with his perception of the Divine. You may question: Why is the evolution of these names of the Divine important? Why should we care? Well, for at least two reasons (you may well think of additional ones). 1. As Thieme has pointed out, in a religion that has no images of the Divine, the name given to the Divine reveals its nature, its essence.2 The evolution of the names of the Divine enables us to see how the perception of the nature of the Divine changed, from Zarathushtra's perception -- Wisdom personified (mazdA-), and Lord (ahUra- used in the sense of one who has acquired lordship over the qualities that make a being Divine),3 -- to the perceptions of later texts in which the Divine became an authority figure Lord Wisdom (ahUra- mazdA-), to yet later texts in which the name had become one word (Hormezd, Ormazd) which no longer had any intrinsic meaning in the everyday language of that time, and therefore projected no notion of the nature, the essence, of the Divine. Once the meaning of a name is no longer understood in everyday language, anyone can attribute any kinds of (totally different) qualities to the Divine.
