    2021 Canada Summer Games Niagara, Ontario New Brunswick Canada Games Tennis Team Selection Criteria 1 2021 Canada Summer Games Selection Criteria i. Background: The Canada Summer Games are held every four years, and are the showcase of our Training to Compete athletes, as per Tennis Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Model. At the 2017 Canada Games, Team NB finished in 5th place. The 2021 Canada Summer Games will be held in Niagara, Ontario. Our mission is to identify, prepare and select the best male and female tennis players in the province to represent New Brunswick at the 2021 Canada Games. The team goal is to improve upon the performance of the last Canada Summer Games with a goal of a top 4 finish. ii. Team Composition: Competitors: Four (4) Males and Four (4) Females Two (2) Males and Two (2) Females under 16 as of January 1, 2021 DATE OF BIRTH: 2005 or later Two (2) Males and Two (2) Females under 18 as of January 1, 2021 DATE OF BIRTH: 2003 or later Team Staff: Two coaches: one male & one female The 2021 Niagara Canada Summer Games Tennis Technical package outlines all of the eligibility criteria for the event.     NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts 2008TSA0040-000702 May 5, 2008 2009 CANADA SUMMER GAMES MISSION STAFF ANNOUNCED VICTORIA – Team BC Mission Staff have been selected to lead the provincial team competing in Prince Edward Island at the 2009 Canada Summer Games, Tourism, Sport and the Arts Minister Stan Hagen announced today. “For many of B.C.’s athletes, the Canada Summer Games is an important stepping stone towards qualifying for the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Hagen. “Many of the province’s athletes competing at the upcoming Beijing Games this summer have gone through our program. To give our athletes and coaches the support they need, the Team BC executive staff have assembled a strong team of leaders reflecting a broad range of sport experience.” Every four years, the Province of British Columbia assembles a team of elite athletes, coaches, managers and mission staff to represent the province at Canada’s premiere multi-sport events: the Canada Winter Games, Canada Summer Games and the Western Canada Summer Games. Consequently, the purpose of this qualitative case study was to explore the concept of organizational capacity within a temporary voluntary sport organization. Specifically, the nature of organizational capacity was examined within the case of the Volunteers Division of the 2005 Canada Summer Games (CSG) Host Society. Data were collected from executive planning and middle management CSG volunteers through the use of a variety of methods: verbal journals, interviews, observations, documents and a focus group. Findings indicated several challenges associated with the volunteer management model utilized by the host society, varying levels of importance among six elements of capacity, and key aspects of the relationship between organizational capacity and transformational development. Implications focused upon the importance of highlighting individuals rather than the organizational as a whole in order to build capacity, and utilizing a brain or hybrid brain-machine organizational form to enhance capacity. Recommendations are provided for both the Canada Games Council and Canada Games host societies.

Whitewater Report The event is dependent on the completion and testing of safety and feature improvements. submitted by Rob Fletcher, CKBC Whitewater Chair A call out will be made at the summit requesting club participation and volunteers for this CKBC/ CKC event. CCEPC and SPC have been the traditional volunteer clubs for events at Rutherford Whitewater Park due to their knowledge and expertise in Whitewater Slalom events. Volunteers welcome, many jobs to fill. See CKBC website for details. 2017 was a relatively quiet year for the Whitewater Chair as Rutherford Whitewater Park wasn’t ready for showing. 2018 looks to be an exciting year for the whitewater disciplines. OVERVIEW Shout out to Dan Norman, who, through his years of involvement with paddling in BC and Canada, was named the Sport BC President Award recipient for his volunteerism to paddling. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do Dan, an example being his organizing of the Cowichan Youth Kayaking Festival, 6th one this year. Last summer in Burnaby, a small group of enthusiastic polo players, using the 8 CKBC polo boats and trailer, worked at developing a drop-in program.

    Annual Report 2009 – 2010 PROTECT • ADVOCATE • ACTIVATE Message to Stakeholders The past year has been a busy and exciting one for the sport organizations manage risk and how the True Sport Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES). Age categories are being selected to develop Canada’s next generation national team athletes in the “Train to Compete” phase of their sport’s Long Term Athlete Development Model, or other suitable phase of LTAD as justified by NSO, and approved by the Canada Games Council, to suit next generation national team athletes. The Canada Games Council Sport Committee has approved the age categories for the following sports on the 2009 Canada Summer Games program: SPORT Age Category Athletics Under 22 as of December 31, 2008. Date of Birth: 1987 or later Wheelchair track athletes must be under 30 years of age as of December 31, 2009 – born 1980 or later.
