Turns out the girl's uncle is trying to steal her money, putting her life in danger, and is also involved in a jewel smuggling operation. Written by frankfob2 yahoo. Elvis Presley was a hugely influential performer with one of the most distinctive singing voices of anybody. He embarked on a film career consisting of 33 films from tofilms that did well at the box-office but mostly panned critically especially his later films and while he was a highly charismatic performer he was never considered a Double Trouble actor. It was from 'Kissin' Cousins', his first real mediocre at best effort, onward when his films became hit and miss or worse. While Elvis certainly did worse, like 'Harum Scarum', 'Double Trouble' generally is down there with his weakest. Regarding Elvis Double Trouble, there is more of the relaxed charisma and the enthusiastic charm than in most of his output most of which he looked utterly disinterested inthe role really doesn't require much but he does his best and while he has looked in better shape he still sounds good. A few Double Trouble the songs are decent, "Long Legged Girl" is the best of the lot and for a song from an Elvis film from this period is good. Some of the supporting cast also don't fare too badly considering what they were given to work with. Chips Double Trouble is quite good too. However, not all the supporting cast and songs work. Annette Day's acting inexperience comes through loud and clear in a performance that neglects any acting ability of any kind. She shares very little chemistry with Elvis either. Michael Murphy, in his screen debut, does his best and gives a creepiness at times but in a way where the darkness doesn't balance particularly well with the rest of the film. Stanley Double Trouble and Walter Burke try too hard in bumbling roles more at home in a sitcom and the Wiere Brothers are just annoying and don't fit. Apart from a few songs, the rest of the soundtrack suffers from being very forgettable, very sloppy lip-synchronisation very rarely in time and from being poorly recorded, almost like the equipment used was on its last legs and on the verge of breaking down any second. Only one of them reaches risible Double Trouble though and that's "Old MacDonald Had a Farm", even Elvis himself looks embarrassed. Norman Taurog's, a wildly variable director dependent on the material, direction is all over the map. As is the corny even for an Elvis film and wildly disjointed Double Trouble, that is far too busy, and a story that is a mess of style, structure and tone, again trying to do too much and very little of Double Trouble comes together just didn't see the point Double Trouble the diamond subplot especially considering how barely remembered it is in the film. Overall, not awful but messy. Really strictly for the fans, and most likely even they will be pining for a film that lives up to Elvis' considerable Double Trouble rather Double Trouble working against them. • Doyle Bramhall
BIO DOYLE BRAMHALL It’s apropos that DOYLE BRAMHALL’s new Yep Roc CD is titled Is It News because, although they’re absolutely true to his deep roots in the blues, its dozen original tunes mark a turning point that is both ambitious and the logical summation of his artistic evolution. The answer to the forward- thinking, envelope-pushing CD’s title is a resounding yes—and the news is all good! “I wanted to make an all-original record that was big, energetic, intimate, and unpredictable,” Doyle states. “We got a lot of the sounds by pushing everything to the limit and then pulling it back from there.” Fans already accustomed to Doyle’s high standards and willingness to chart new territory will nonetheless be pleased and surprised at just how high he raises the bar. This instant classic is the benchmark of Bramhall’s storied career—which is saying a lot! Continuing the tradition he started with the songs he co-wrote with Stevie Ray Vaughan, which struck a chord with the biggest audience the blues has ever enjoyed, he deftly expands the idiom’s vocabulary and texture. Any discussion of Texas blues, be it T-Bone Walker or Stevie Ray, is incomplete without mention of Doyle Bramhall. As singer, songwriter, and drummer, he has been an integral part of that rich state’s music for almost 40 years and, indeed, one of the founding fathers of the blues/roots resurgence synonymous with the Lone Star state and the migration from Dallas to its musical epicenter, Austin.

  • Jimmie Vaughan More Blues, Ballads and Favorites Bio
Jimmie Vaughan More Blues, Ballads and Favorites Bio For Jimmie Vaughan, too much of a good thing is a concept that simply doesn‟t exist. The legendary Texan guitar dynamo was so pleased with the response to his 2010 album Blues, Ballads and Favorites that he decided to follow it up with a brand new collection he‟s calling— what else?—More Blues, Ballads and Favorites! Packed with 16 covers of classic tunes that are close to his heart, the album—recorded, like the previous one, in his hometown of Austin, Texas—reunites Vaughan with the same cast of musicians that helped him out on the previous set. Also returning for round two, to assist with the vocals, is Lou Ann Barton, whose powerful pipes grace several tunes on the new release. “The first album was a success,” says Vaughan, “and what happened is I never really stopped. Even after I turned the first one in I was still recording. I‟ve decided that, as long as I feel like it, I‟m going to do that from now on.” Jimmie Vaughan—who first came to prominence as co-founder of the pioneering Texas blues- rock band the Fabulous Thunderbirds in the ‟70s— has certainly earned the right to do whatever he wants whenever he wants to do it. Since he was a kid, Vaughan has dedicated his life to mastering his axe and reminding folks what American music is all about—music, he says, that need not be categorized. “When I talk about country and blues, they‟re the same thing,” he says.
