Scottish Exhibition + Conference July 2014 Version 3 SCOTTISH EXHIBITION + CONFERENCE CENTRE (SECC) PRECINCT Essential Venue Guide The SECC is one of Scotland’s most visited venues, hosting a variety of concerts, events and conferences. At Games Time, its large-scale Halls will host Judo, Wrestling, Boxing and Netball. Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics and the Boxing and Netball Finals will take place inside the futuristic Hydro – the riverside’s newest landmark – and Weightlifting and Para-Sport Powerlifting will be contested in the iconic Clyde Auditorium. Although the Author’s duties included the design of the various stations, and in some cases of the building works, the space at disposal renders it necessary for his remarks to be confined to the mechanical details ; and even these cannot be dealt with by any means as fully as he could wish. The sewage discharged from the Glasgow and Partick intercepting sewers, the former having a diameter of 6 feet and the latter of 5 feet, is dealt with at this station. The head to beovercome is 35 to 36 feet, including a sufficient allowance for loss of head while passing through screens, etc., and for giving assurance that the in- tercepting sewers will, except during very heavy rain, always have a clear fall into the station. Sat 23 November 2019 - 8 miles/12.9 km - Leisurely Station to Station over the Gleniffer Braes Meet at 09:20: Meet at Glasgow Central Station outside M & S Simply Food at 9:20am having purchased a return ticket to Johnstone for the 9:34am Ayr train (G2 8HA, NS587651) Starts: Johnstone Railway Station when the train arrives. (PA5 8JS, NS433629) The walk starts at Johnstone Railway Station and finishes at Paisley Canal Station. After a gentle walk through the Bluebell Woods in Johnstone, there is a short but steep uphill section to get on to the Gleniffer Braes. After that, most of the walk is a promenade along the Gleniffer Braes with great views across Paisley, Glasgow, the Clyde valley and the hills to the north. It will be a muddy in places. It is possible to end the walk after 10k and get to Canal Street station by bus. Please read our What you need to know and Walk grades pages.
