CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION OF PARENT GOVERNOR

Richard Chase (seconded by Michelle Maguire) Son in Year 8 My middle child, eldest son, is in Year 8. I am a geologist, widely travelled, former City financial analyst and now company director able to work from home. I coach rugby at Fullerians and served five years as a Governor of our local primary school.

Kashif Chaudry (seconded by Ansu Amritlal Shah) Son in Year 7 WBGS provides a unique learning environment for our boys. As a former pupil, with over 20 years’ public service experience in the UK and overseas, I would welcome the opportunity to serve as a governor and help lead the school to continue as a centre of excellence for future generations.

Suzanne Gillman (seconded by Isla Kidd) Son in Year 11 With 25 years’ experience in the workforce, I’m seeking opportunities to put something back into my community. Keen to help the next generation learn and grow; my role as Global Director at PWC provides me with insight into the skills required for our children to succeed in tomorrow’s workplace.

Aysha Nabeel Khokhar (seconded by Rafaqat Anwar) Sons in Year 7 and Year 11 I have two sons in years seven and eleven. A graduate of the Institute of Education, I have fifteen years’ experience in children services. Given the opportunity, I shall help maintain the ethos and values of WBGS by working together for the school, parents and most importantly our boys.

Vinesh Mehta (seconded by Sonal Ruparelia) Son in Year 7 As a local resident, and a parent, I would like to contribute to the School’s ethos of developing every boy. As an experienced strategic auditor who is used to recruitment, investigations, working with executive management and challenging the norm, my experience would support the Governing Body.

Adam Parsons (seconded by Duncan Farnsworth) Son in Year 8 TV and Radio presenter for BBC News. Present daily ‘Wake up to Money’ programme on Radio 5 Live. I deeply value our school’s ethos of lifelong learning and acceptance. Previously board director at a national company and director of communications for British Olympic team. Charity fundraiser, secondary school student mentor.

Mr Ansu Amritlal Shah (seconded by Milan Shah) Son in Year 7 Former pupil at Watford Boys (1982 – 1988). Studied Accounting and Finance at Portsmouth University. Proprietor of Situls Gifts – family retail business in Watford since 1976. On the board of Watford Town Centre Partnership. Active squash player and cyclist. Fluent in Gujarati. Keen to take an active part in school life.

Andrew William Speirs (seconded by Jo Roberts) Son in Year 8 A well respected restructuring adviser with 20+ years of international experience advising corporate directors on tricky situations (including in education sector). Now with more time. WBGS is the eighth school attended by a child of mine. One of the best, but I want to help make it even better.
