Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery The Tian Tan Buddha, also known locally as the “Big Buddha”, is one of the largest outdoor bronze statues of sitting Buddha in the world. It was erected opposite to the Po Lin Monastery, one of Hong Kong’s most important Buddhist sanctums, in 1993, where you will find colourful manifestations of Buddhist iconography as well as a lively garden filled with bird songs and flowery scents. It is also the home to many devoted monks. Market A culturally designed themed village where you can find a wide array of shops and eateries there. About 1.5 hours free time is available for your delightful shopping experience and lunch (at own cost). It is also famous for the wide range of authentic oriental gifts as souvenirs.
