Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina RESUMO Este trabalho tem como foco, analisar e identificar, a partir do estudo de imagens, a estética autoral do artista, como o título já sugere. Para esta análise, foram escolhidos 5 artistas, estes sendo: René Gruau, Antonio Lopez, Bijou Karman, Arturo Elena e Zé Otávio. Os tópicos que serão analisados e que contribuirão para o entendimento do tema são a história da moda, história da ilustração de moda, sintaxe visual, simbologia e signos, e, por fim, a análise em si dos artistas e os materiais e técnicas que estes utilizam. O estudo busca demonstrar como a ilustração de moda manual, mesmo adquirindo concorrentes como as artes digitais, ainda se faz presente, essencial, para o desenvolvimento de um ilustrador na área de moda.
