To the,east of the Market Place are the r'laneslr. These are part of the med,j.aeval tornm pattern and are footv;ays wl::ioh Lead dom frln the Market Place to Punp Square, a space of pleasing proportions, par.bially spoilt by present day cond.itions.

Starting fron Haven Bank the boundary proceeds dolvn the westerar sid.e of the river adjoining, in one pLace, the boundary to tho Irincoln lane Redevelopnent Area. It then includes the Whi-teHart Hotel- prenrises, I{atter Lrane, Snery Lane and 3rid6o Street, prooeedi-ngeastrvarcls along West Street and. southvrard.s to include the frontage to Hi6h Street as far as tr'yd.e11Crescent. The river is then inc}uded as far south as the new llaven Sridge.

Northwards from this point both sides of South Square are included together with parbs of Spain L,ane, Spain Court includjrr6 the St. Maryrs Guil-dhal1 and the Sl"ackfriars t lriary vrhioh has now been successfuJ-J-y converted. to a theatre. The Council have recently considered a reporE v,/ith regard to extending the Boston Conservation Area. On the 23rd Ju1y, 1984, the Council resolved to extend the Area as shown on the enclosed map,

The Council were saEisfied that the criteria referred to in Section 277 of the Towns--.1 Country planning Act, I97I, qs amended by the Town and County AmeniEies Act, L974, had been met and notices, as per copy attached will appear in the London Gazetfe and Ehe local newspaper shortly.-
