Yes Big Generator Full Album Youtube Big Generator yes big generator full album youtube Big Generator. Big Generator is the twelfth album by Yes, and was released in 1987. It features the same lineup of musicians as the previous album, 90125 . The album was commercially successful and reached #15 in the US Billboard 200, during a 30 week stay in the chart, and peaked at #17 in the UK charts. It also spawned a number of singles, of which the most successful Love Will Find a Way reached #1 in the US Mainstream Rock chart, with Rhythm of Love peaking at #2 in the same chart. Big Generator took almost two years to produce, mainly as a result of creative differences within the band. Trevor Rabin wanted to build on the success of 90125 , whereas Jon Anderson preferred to take the band back to its more traditional sound. Anderson said of Trevor Horn , who was producing the album, that he asked him to not attend the studio or rehearsals for three months, presumably so that the band could develop their ideas without Anderson. Horn quit as producer after only a few months, mainly because of his inability to get along with keyboardist Tony Kaye , whom he had also failed to get along with during the 90125 recording sessions. Following this departure, Rabin assumed the role of producer and is credited with putting together the final track list. Following the release of Big Generator , Anderson was unhappy with the direction the band was going in and began work on other projects, including a reunion with some former Yes band members in the form of Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe. The album art for Big Generator , like its predecessor, features a computer-generated image, but with different versions for the CD and vinyl editions—the cover used for the CD version is yellow with red writing, and the vinyl edition features a cyan background with purple text. • Yes – Topographic Drama: Live Across America

  • Resolution May/June 08 V7.4.Indd
craft Horn and Downes briefl y joined legendary prog- rock band Yes, before Trevor quit to pursue his career as a producer. Dollar and ABC won him chart success, with ABC’s The Lexicon Of Love giving the producer his fi rst UK No.1 album. He produced Malcolm McLaren and introduced the hitherto-underground world of scratching and rapping to a wider audience, then went on to produce Yes’ biggest chart success ever with the classic Owner Of A Lonely Heart from the album 90125 — No.1 in the US Hot 100. Horn and his production team of arranger Anne Dudley, engineer Gary Langan and programmer JJ Jeczalik morphed into electronic group Art Of Noise, recording startlingly unusual-sounding songs like Beat Box and Close To The Edit. In 1984 Trevor pulled all these elements together when he produced the epic album Welcome To The Pleasuredome for Liverpudlian bad-boys Frankie Goes To Hollywood. When Trevor met his wife, Jill Sinclair, her brother John ran a studio called Sarm. Horn worked there for several years, the couple later bought the Island Records-owned Basing Street Studios complex and renamed it Sarm West. They started the ZTT imprint, to which many of his artists such as FGTH were signed, and the pair eventually owned the whole gamut of production process: four recording facilities, rehearsal and rental companies, a publisher (Perfect Songs), engineer and producer management and record label. A complete Horn discography would fi ll the pages of Resolution dedicated to this interview, but other artists Trevor has produced include Grace Jones, Propaganda, Pet Shop Boys, Band Aid, Cher, Godley and Creme, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, David Coverdale, Simple Minds, Spandau Ballet, Eros Ramazzotti, Mike Oldfi eld, Marc Almond, Charlotte Church, t.A.T.u, LeAnn Rimes, Lisa Stansfi eld, Belle & Sebastian and Seal.

Image not found or type unknown www.juventudrebelde.cu Image not found or type unknown Portada del fonograma Fly from here, de la banda de rock Yes.

  • Introduction
Are We Not New Wave?: Modern Pop at the Turn of the 1980s Theo Cateforis The University of Michigan Press, 2011 http://press.umich.edu/titleDetailDesc.do?id=152565 Introduction Like many historical narratives, the story of rock music is one organized around a succession of cycles. The music’s production, reception, and mythology are typically situated as part of a constantly renewing periodic phenomenon, intimately tied to the ebb and ›ow of adolescent or youth generations. This periodization ‹nds its most conspicuous form in the shape of rock “invasions” and “explosions.” Such events are characterized by a ›urry of musical activity, as a number of related new artists and bands coalesce and the recording and media industries recognize a new popular music movement. We tend to associate these cycles with the spectacle sur- rounding a signi‹cant iconic performer or group: Elvis Presley serves as a lightning rod for the emergence of rock and roll in the 1950s; the Beatles head a British Invasion in the mid-1960s; a decade later the Sex Pistols and punk rock shock mainstream society; in the early 1990s Nirvana articulates a grunge style that solidi‹es alternative rock’s popularity. In the most basic sense, any of these four dynamic outbursts might rightfully be considered a new wave of popular music. It is mostly a matter of historical circumstance that the actual label of new wave should be associated with the third of the aforementioned movements: the mid-1970s punk explosion. In the 1970s critics credited punk bands like the Sex Pistols and the Clash with startling the rock industry out of its moribund complacency.

BIOGRAPHY ****** BIOGRAPHY ****** BIOGRAPHY YES Biography In 2021 YES signed a deal with progressive label Inside Out Music and announced that a new album, their first for seven years, is released on 1st October. The Quest is a strong collection of collaborative compositions posing the great questions of life and finding that we have our destiny within our own hands. Steve Howe says “(Inside Out boss Thomas Waber) is pretty demanding, you can’t fool Thomas.” “He’s knowledgeable about YES fans, and their expectations. He was not going to be happy until we met those expectations.” The music of YES has endured over the years and has been handed down through generations of music lovers. At Sheffield City Hall, in 2018, one fan described how he had first seen YES play the very same venue more than forty years earlier. He was there with his son who had grown up with the music of YES and was as big a fan as his dad. “That’s nice and I’m so glad that’s true,” Steve Howe reflected. “We weren’t just running round doing things, we were doing things that have lasted. That’s because of the collaborations, it’s the team-work that signifies YES.” Until the global pandemic, YES had been touring annually with their Album Series tours, each tour showcasing one of their classic albums in full together with other favourite concert numbers. During the pandemic YES got together from all corners of the World - Alan & Billy in USA, Steve and Geoff in the UK and Jon between the USA, Barbados and the UK… and started writing and composing music for The Quest.

1 Progressive Rock, “Close to the Edge, // and the Boundaries of style JOHNCOVACH 1 “Progressive rock,” “classical rock,” “art rock,” “symphonic rock”- these labels have been used over the last twenty-five years by various authors to designate a style of popular music developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, primarily by British rock musicians.’ During this time groups such as King Crimson, the Moody Blues, Procol Harum, the Nice (and later Emerson, Lake, and Palmer), Gentle Giant, Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull, Van der Graaf Generator, and Deep Purple attempted to blend late-’60s and early-’70s rock and pop with elements drawn from the Western art-music tradi- tion.2 This attempt to develop a kind of “concert-hall rock‘‘-which was neverthe- less still often performed in stadiums and arenas-was the result of a tendency on the part of some rockers and their fans to view rock as“listening music” (as opposed to dance music), an aesthetic trend that Wilfrid Mellers3 attributes to the influence of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band of 1967.4 The early progressive rockers were not the first to employ musical elements gen- erally associated with the “classical” or art-music tradition in their arrangements. The mid- 1960s British-invasion groups, in an apparent attempt to surpass one another in eclecticism, began to use instruments and stylistic elements drawn from both the British music-hall and European art-music traditions. Music-hall elements are present, for instance, in Peter and Gordon’s “Lady Godiva” (1966) and Herman’s
