This program was entitled Talent Focused Management and included topics such as recruiting, onboarding and training new employees. 3 Ongoing Participation in other TEGNA has a partnership with 1 Marketing Producer Event activities designed by American Corporate Partners that pairs the station employment TEGNA mentors with veterans to help unit put them on the path towards fulfilling, long-term careers outside of the military, whether the veteran is job searching or newly employed. A staff member of the station was paired with a Marine who is leaving the military and is very interested in the video production field. They meet once a month virtually & discuss many things about getting into the video production field. As an example, as a mentor, he invited the VP of video services from a local ad agency to one of their conversations & set up a mock interview with the marketing manager from the station. She spoke about fake institutions news, the role of digital media, and what the media landscape is like for beginning journalists. She also told them about internship and employment opportunities at the station. 7 5/6/2021 Provision of training to Members of the station management 11 General Manager management team attended an online training Digital Content program titled "A Guide to Inclusive Director Hiring Practices". The training program News Director was facilitated by a representative from Head of Technology the TEGNA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office and was offered on May 6th and 19th. Topics covered in the training included: learning about diversity, equity and inclusion; leveraging colleges, universities and local organizations; combatting unconscious bias; and best practices in recruiting and interviewing. 8 5/25/2021 Participation in The station's general manager served on 1 Vice President & scholarship programs the selection committee for the Ohio General Manager Broadcasters Foundation Kids Scholarship program. The scholarship is awarded in the spring to a graduating high school senior that is planning to attend college in the fall.
