Generators (aka: dynamos) were stamped +ve or - ve earth, depending on what make and model car they were going to be fitted to. However, they will work perfectly well either way. Generators really don't care whether the car is wired positive or nega- tive earth, and absolutely no change needs to be made to the generator or charging system if you reverse the polarity.
