2021 ASBK Competitor Information Kit Version 1 19/01/2021 2021 ASBK Competitor Information Kit Version 1 19/01/2021 Introduction The Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) will have Sporting Regulations in which are a combination of sporting, technical and judicial rules specific to ASBK. The Competitor Information Kit will supplement the ASBK Sporting Regulations and to provide competitors with all the additional information they require for the season for Rounds 1 – 7. Competitors for all classes in ASBK (including support classes) are required to read this document and complete the required information as requested. The Australian F1 and F2 Championship and Oceania Junior Cup have specific Supplementary Regulations related to their Series, which competitors must also read in conjunction and prior to competition. Communication 2.1 Mailchimp Updates will be sent to Competitors/Crew on the ASBK Competitor Mailing List with further details and reminders. If you are not already on the email list, please send your request by emailing [email protected] 2.2 Team App Team App will be utilised throughout the Season to communicate important and urgent updates. Download Team App on your Mobile phone, search ASBK Championship and request the relevant groups. 2.3 Final Instructions Will be sent via MailChimp and posted to the Competitor Info Page at www.asbk.com.au 2.4 Non-Acceptable Methods Messages sent via SMS/text, Facebook messenger, Instagram messenger or any other social media platform regarding ASBK matter will not be accepted. Please put your request in writing via email or phone the relevant contact listed in this document. 3. General Information 3.1 New Competitors Competitors who have not previously competed in ASBK are required to email through supporting evidence of their experience in road racing. Ie: race results to [email protected]. The ASBK Event Management Team will then review your submission. 3.2 Guardians All competitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent. If a parent is not attending the event, they are required to complete the Nomination of Guardian Form and return it to Motorcycling Australia prior to the commencement of the event. Competitors without a nominated Guardian Form or parent present will not be eligible to ride. Page 2 2021 ASBK Competitor Information Kit Version 1 19/01/2021 3.3 Rider Numbers 3.3.1 Competitors must apply for a Rider Number by completing the ASBK Rider Number Application within this Information Kit. Existing allocations are available on the Competitor Info Section of ASBK.com.au 3.3.2 It is compulsory for competitors to run their registered number at all ASBK Events 3.3.3 Numbers are available for sale at all ASBK rounds from the Race Secretary 3.3.4 Stylised numbers are subject to approval. Email design to [email protected] 3.4 Decals MA receives the right to stipulate that various stickers/decals are to be affixed to machines according to Championship sponsorship requirements. 3.5 On Board Cameras No on board camera are allowed without prior approval. On board camera application forms can be obtained from the Race Office. Your applications form is to be taken to technical inspection with your motorcycle with camera mounted. Technical inspection will then approve or decline the applications. No Helmet camera are allowed. The rights to the video from onboard cameras belong’s to Motorcycling Australia and cannot be used without written permission from Motorcycling Australia. 3.6 Web Links This document and the Competitor Info Page on www.asbk.com.au are the best places to find all the information that is available for ASBK. Information is posted and communicated as soon as it becomes available. If the information you are seeking is not yet posted, then it is probably not yet available. How to Enter an Event on Ridernet is a step-by-step guide for those new to the Ridernet system. Tyre Homologation List is a list of approved tyres for the Championship. This will be release on 8th February 2021 and may change throughout the year. Any updates to the Homologation List will be communicated to all competitors. 3.7 Media Grids 3.7.1 For all Superbike and Supersport races there will have a media grid will take place for all, refer to the ASBK Sporting Regulations 3.6 – Pre-Race Media Grids for further information. Media Grids for selected Supersport 300 races throughout the 2021 season may occur. Races where these media grids will occur will be advised via the ASBK updates and Final Instruction of the round, where applicable. 3.7.2 Any equipment containing oil, water or fuel must not contaminate the track with fluids whilst being used. The only fluids allowed on the grid are drinks for riders which must be in a split proof container. Re-fuelling of motorcycles is not allowed and no additional lubricants other than that which are contained within the motorcycle are permitted on the track, this includes but is not limited to chain lubricants, brake fluid, engine oil or Non Glycol radiator coolant. Page 3 2021 ASBK Competitor Information Kit Version 1 19/01/2021 3.8 Withdrawals – Refund Policy For the withdrawal of an entry to be valid it must be made in writing at least 10 working days prior to the first day of the round in question. A withdrawal under these criteria will receive a refund however, $20 of the entry fee will be withheld for administrative costs and all credit card and processing fees will not be refunded. If you are withdrawing within 10 working days of the first day of a round, this needs to be completed in writing and accompanied by a medical certificate. A refund will be granted once this is received and $20 of the entry fee will be withheld for administrative costs and all credit card and processing fees will not be refunded. 3.9 Ridernet Profiles It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure their Ridernet profile is up to date and accurate. It is advised to add your bikes including VIN and Engine Number at the start of the year, this information is then stored in your profile and can be applied to each event. Competitors without a VIN and/or Engine Number on their entry may result in delays/refusal from Technical Inspection. 3.10 International Competitors International Competitors are eligible to compete in ASBK, please refer to the Round Location details for IMNs. To obtain a Ridernet ID tied to your FIM Licence contact [email protected]. Refer to Section 6.2 Licensing for details. 3.11 Trade Alley Trade Alley is a free opportunity for vendors to display at ASBK. We advise sharing this information with your sponsors. Further details will be available in the new year from asbk.com.au/get-started/trade-alley/ 4.
