WCF – A Short History The World Congress of Families was founded in 1995 by WCF International Secretary Dr. Allan Carlson. Previous Con- gresses: WCF I (Prague, 1997), WCF II (Geneva, 1999), WCF III (Mexico City, 2004), WCF IV (Warsaw, 2007) and WCF V (Amsterdam, 2009). In 2011, World Congress of Families held regional events in London, Latvia, Nigeria, Sydney, Van- couver and Moscow (site of the world’s first Demographic Summit). WCF VI will be held at the Palacio De Congresos de Madrid, in the heart of Spain’s capital, May 25-27, 2012. More than 2,500 participants are expected from six continents. The Madrid Congress will raise high the natural family stan- dard in Spain and Western Europe, where the family has been under unrelenting assault for decades. Join leaders, activists, scholars and officials who will gather to celebrate the natural family as the basic and fundamental unit of soci- ety, to share information and ideas, to network and to strate- gize for the battles ahead. The local organizing committee for WCF VI is led by HazteOir.org, which has helped to organ- ize massive pro-life and pro-marriage demonstrations across Spain.
