400km or 250miles tU d t (111(10, I Abstract: During June and July 1999, twelve members of the Yorkshire Ramblers' Club visited Bolivia. Following a week of acclimatisation on the altiplano, five visited the Cocapata range near Cochabamba for exploratory rock climbing on granite peaks, while the remainder completed a two week trek in the Cordillera Real Subsequently all combined for an ascent of Sajama. Two members then explored the Cordillera Occidental. This report includes notes on planning, routes, personal accounts and further opportunities for climbing and trekking. Their local porters abandonned them on the ascent of this prominent peak which dominates the view from the city of La Paz at the southem end ofthe Cordillera Real (Conway, 1901, pI24). Conway later almost reached the summit of Ancohuma (6427m 21086fi) at the northem end of the Cordillera Real. October 2016 WEFTA Bolivia Country Report Prepared by Jason Gehrig, PE (water/wastewater) and Chris Edmundson (parish library computers in Senkata) WEFTA volunteer engineer Jason Gehrig and Chris Edmundson of Denver, CO spent eight days in the Bolivian Andes, along with Jason’s wife Felicia and son Nicholas. Hosted by Braulio Rojas and Basilia Choque of Suma Jayma, they had the opportunity to spend time with James Erario, volunteer engineer from the Northeast US put in touch with Suma Jayma via WEFTA. Highlights also included visiting recently completed water wells and community water supply projects implemented by Suma Jayma, along with preliminary visits with elected officials and community leaders in the rural municipalities of Pucarani, Viacha and Coro Coro to discuss technical collaboration needs for desired water and wastewater treatment. Interpersonal Comparisons and Destructive Actions: Experimental Evidence from Bolivia Eliana Zeballos ∗ July 21, 2015 Abstract Accumulating research has shown that individuals’ welfare is affected not only by the absolute amount of resources at their command but also, by their relative position vis-a-vis others. Individuals’ concerns about their relative positions may influence individuals’ choices and affect their behavior. For example, upward interpersonal comparisons may spur individuals to reduce consumption gaps by increasing effort or investment to "catch-up" or by "pulling-down" others through destructive actions. "Pulling down" other more successful individuals may have both direct and indirect detrimental effects on productivity and efficiency. On one hand, welfare is reduced directly as the other’s output is destroyed and one’s resources are consumed. In addition, the threat of destructive actions may lead to lower levels of effort and investment. In order to empirically examine how interpersonal comparisons affect effort levels, the prevalence of destructive actions, and how the threat of destructive actions affect effort levels; I designed a set of behavioral games that build on the two-stage "money burning" game. -

De la Riva (**) ABSTRACT The number of Bolivian lizards and amphisbaenids is increased from 79 (Fugler, 1989) to 102 in this updated and comprehensive list, which includes all new species and taxonomic changes published recently, as well as locality data. Coordinates for the loca- lities are provided in a locality list. Three species are reported herein for the first time: Kentropyx pelviceps, Liolaemus schmidti, and Uranoscodon superciliosus. Key words: Saurians, Amphisbaenians, distribution, bibliography, Bolivia. RESUMEN Los saurios y anfisbénidos de Bolivia (Reptilia, Squamata): lista patrón, localidades y bibliografía El número de saurios y anfisbénidos conocidos en Bolivia se incrementa de 79 espe- cies (Fugler, 1989) a 102 en la presente lista actualizada, que incorpora todas las espe- cies nuevas, los cambios taxonómicos recientes y todas las localidades de colecta cono- cidas con sus coordenadas.
