The WPI team surveyed 16 waterfront districts, four in-depth, assessing their walkability using a tool created by the research team and conducted preference surveys to understand the perceptions of Hong Kong pedestrians. Because pedestrians value the shortest, safest, least-crowded, and easiest to navigate routes, this study found that confusing routes, unsafe or indirect connections, and a lack of amenities detract from the walkability in Hong Kong. This report provides new data concerning the walkability in harbor front districts and a tool to measure it, along with recommendations for potential improvements. iii | P a g e Acknowledgements Our team would like to thank the many people that helped us over the course of this project. The southern portion of Route 3 forms part of the principal access to the Chek Lap Kok Airport. This comprises the Tsing Yi and Kwai Chung Sections from northwest Tsing Yi to Mei Foo, the West Kowloon Expressway and the Western Harbour Crossing to Hong Kong Island, all of which are included in the Airport Core Programme. 1.3 The northern portion of Route 3, namely the Country Park Section. consists of the following principal elements:- (a) The Ting Kau Bridge and the North West Tsing Yi Interchange; (b) The Tai Lam Tunnel including the Ting Kau interchange; and (c) The Yuen Long Approach from Au Tau to Tai Lam Tunnel including the connections to the roads in the area including the Yuen Long Southern By-pass. -

Islands District Council Traffic and Transport Committee Paper T&TC 41/2020 2020 Hong Kong Cyclothon 1. Objectives 1.1 The 2020 Hong Kong Cyclothon, organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, is scheduled to be held on 15 November 2020. This document outlines to the Islands District Council Traffic and Transport Committee the event information and traffic arrangements for 2020 Hong Kong Cyclothon, with the aim to obtain the District Council’s continuous support. 2. Event Background 2.1. Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is tasked to market and promote Hong Kong as a travel destination worldwide and to enhance visitors' experience in Hong Kong, by hosting different mega events. 2.2. The Hong Kong Cyclothon was debuted in 2015 in the theme of “Sports for All” and “Exercise for a Good Cause”. Over the past years, the event attracted more than 20,000 local and overseas cyclists to participate in various cycling programmes, as well as professional cyclists from around the world to compete in the International Criterium Race, which was sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and The Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China Limited (CAHK). The 50km Ride is the first cycling activity which covers “Three Tunnels and Three Bridges (Tsing Ma Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge, Stonecutters Bridge, Cheung Tsing Tunnel, Nam Wan Tunnel, Eagle’s Nest Tunnel)” in the route. 2.3. Besides, all the entry fees from the CEO Charity and Celebrity Ride and Family Fun Ride and partial amount of the entry fee from other rides/ races will be donated to the beneficiaries of the event. -

Location and Physiography This report describesthe onshoregeology of the areacovered by Sheet9-NE-C/D (Chek Lap Kok). The description of the geology relatesto the period before the commencementof major excavationsfor the new airport in late 1991. The areais part of that currentlybeing developedfor a new internationalairport for Hong Kong, to replacethe current airport at Kai Tak in Kowloon Bay. The onshorearea (Figure 1) comprisesthe island ofChek Lap Kok, which lies about300 m north of the Lantaucoast at Tung Chung Wan. Lantauis the largestisland in the Territory andis situatedto the west of Hong Kong Island. Chek Lap Kok (Plate 1) is about4 km long and 1.5 km wide at its widest point, extendingnorthnortheast from Tung Chung Wan. The land areais approximately2.8 sq km. The highestpoint on the island is Fu Tau Shan(Tigers Head Hill) rising to 121m. Southof Fu Tau Shanthe land drops sharplyto the seaat Fu Tei Wan (Tiger Bay), while to the north the land drops steadilyto the coastat CheungSha Lan. The east- ern side of the island is dominatedby a ridge line of hills rising in places to over 100 m, and falling steeplyto the coastalong the easternseaboard. The southernend of the island forms a small peninsula, rising to lessthan 80 mPD. A finger-like peninsulaextends northnortheast, creating a shallowbay, ShamWan (DeepBay), to the east. Sham Wan lies at the mouth of a large valley, with flat land and extensiveagricultural development. Fu Tei Wan lies south of this valley, and forms a less extensive alluvial tract with some agricultural development. In 1982,a test embankmentfor the proposedreplacement airport was constructedoffshore to the west of the island (cover plate). -

New Service Arrangements for NWFB Routes 18, 43X and 720A (14 October 2011, Hong Kong )Effective 17 October 2011 (Monday), New World First Bus (“NWFB”) will implement new service arrangements for Routes 18, 43X and 720A. Details are as follows: Route 18 Departures from Kennedy Town (Belcher Bay) of Route 18 will divert via Tim Mei Avenue, Lung Wui Road, Fenwick Pier Street, Harbour Road and Fleming Road after Harcourt Road, then resume its original routeing to North Point (Healthy Street Central). New bus stops will be located opposite to CITIC Tower of Lung Wui Road and outside Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre of Harbour Road while the original bus stops outside The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Immigration Tower of Gloucester Road will be cancelled.
