    MURDERDOLLS 09.09.2010 Stuttgart Die Röhre Es ist nichts Ungewöhnliches, dass sich Musiker einer erfolgreichen Band ein persönlicher gestaltetes Zweitprojekt gönnen. Für Joey Jordison, den Schlagzeuger und Haupt-Songwriter der Metal-Wucht Slipknot, ist seine Nebenbeschäftigung MURDERDOLLS allerdings weit mehr als ein Seitenprojekt. Gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen Wednesday 13 entwickelt er seit 1999 eine hitzige, unverblümte und zuweilen verstörende Melange aus Hard- und Glamrock, Heavy Metal und offensiv-blutrünstigen Texten. Dies gefiel nicht nur den Slipknot-Fans so gut, dass die MURDERDOLLS seit Erscheinen ihres 2002er-Debüts „Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls“ zu den wichtigsten Bands des Horrorpunk-Genres zählen. Ende August erscheint nach einer längeren Pause ihr zweites Album „Women And Children Last“, mit dem sie im Anschluss auf Tournee gehen. Die deutschen Station en ihrer Konzertreise im September sind Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Bochum und Köln. Joey Jordison gehört seit mehr als einer Dekade zu den umtriebigsten Musikern der amerikanischen Rock-Szene. Mit seiner neun Mann starken Metal- und Splatter-Formation Slipknot führt er regelmäßig die US-Hitlisten an, Tourneen der Band sind konstant restlos ausverkauft. Zudem gehört er zu den meistbeschäftigten Schlagzeugern der Welt und half bereits bei Tourneen von Metallica, Korn, Ministry und Rob Zombie als Taktgeber aus. Der 35-jährige Musiker aus Des Moines/Iowa kennt wenige stilistische Scheuklappen und vermengt bald jede Form härterer Rockmusik aufs Natürlichste zu einem schauerlich-schönen audiovisuellen Ereignis, zu dem man ebenso gut moshen wie sich gruseln kann. Entsprechend stellen sich die MURDERDOLLS, die 1999 von Jordison und dem Dope- und Static X-Gitarristen Tripp Eisen gegründet wurden, inhaltlich und stilistisch vollkommen anders dar als seine Hauptbeschäftigung Slipknot.

Zur deutschen Übersetzung des Interviews Anders, the upcoming Katatonia album „The Fall of Hearts“ will mark the first ‘fully distorted’ release since 2012’s highly acclaimed „Dead End Kings“ (excluding the live release „Last Fair Day Gone Night“, 2014). Having worked on the ‘metal-less’ 2013 re-imagining of Dead End Kings entitled Dethroned„ & Uncrowned“ (2013) and extensive subsequent acoustic tours culminating in the Live DVD release of „Sanctitude“ last year, how much has this rather long absence from fully plugged heaviness influenced the songwriting for The Fall of Hearts? I think, by doing the many „Dethroned & Uncrowned“ and „Sanctitude“ acoustic gigs and album we opened up a new door for our audience to choose, to get familiar with, to accept a new sound of Katatonia. We never tried to claim or anything that this was the indication of our new style. It was just a little side experiment to show that we have more sides than just one in Katatonia. We also could show a softer more lushy acoustic side that would still sound like Katatonia.

Ana Paula dos Santos1 Júlio França2 A aclamada série de televisão Twin Peaks (1990-1991), idealizada por David Lynch e Mark Frost, narra a investigação de um estranho assassinato que choca os moradores de uma pacata cidade do interior dos Estados Unidos. A vítima é Laura Palmer, uma estudante de dezessete anos que fora assassinada após sofrer agressão física e sexual. A investigação do crime é conduzida pela polícia local com o auxílio do agente do FBI Dale Cooper, e acaba revelando um lado sombrio da personalidade da vítima. Laura era sem dúvida uma jovem gentil, responsável e caridosa, mas também estava envolvida com traições e adultério, drogas e prostituição. A descoberta dessa vida dupla faz vir à tona outros segredos obscuros da cidade de Twin Peaks: entre os crimes e as transgressões cometidos às escondidas pelos moradores estão tráfico de drogas, violência doméstica, aliciamento de menores e exploração sexual – apenas para citar alguns exemplos. Além desses horrores, Cooper precisa lidar também com as forças sobrenaturais que povoam a cidade: entidades misteriosas aparecem nos sonhos do agente do FBI sob a forma de anões e gigantes, e até mesmo um duplo de Laura Palmer revela pistas que ajudam a desvendar o crime. Cooper descobre, então, que o próprio assassino de Laura estava possuído por uma entidade maligna responsável pela tortura e morte de outras adolescentes. Ulsect kommer fra den nederlandske byen Tilburg – som fra før er kjent for black metal-bandet Dodecahedron og prog-bandet Textures. Ulsect kommer fra dette miljøet og har med seg gitarist Joris Bonis og trommeslager Jasper Barendregt fra Dodecahedron, samt tidligere Textures-bassist Dennis Aarts. Det kommer derfor ikke som en overraskelse at elementer fra disse bandene gjennomsyrer Ulsects fantastiske debutalbum. Skiva låter som en frekk blanding av pionerer som Gorguts og Deathspell Omega.
