Her career is still at its pinnacle after nearly 30 years and she has spanned the globe in her efforts to hone her craft. Louise was born in Canada and became interested in hair from a very young age. Knowing her resources would be limited in her hometown, she moved to London as soon as she was old enough. Moon quickly learned the artistry of cutting hair at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. Her career took off living and working in Europe for 13 years. During this stage, Moon split her time between Paris, London and Milan submersing herself in the world of high fashion. She worked all the shows including Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Givenchy, Chanel, Ferre, Versace, Armani and Valentino. Moon collaborated with Moschino and Thierry Mugler on personal projects creating innovative hairstyles for their shoots. She also worked alongside legendary hairdresser Aldo Coppola at this time. Moon quickly became in demand and was soon working editorial fashion shoots for the likes of Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar magazines with photographers Herb Ritts, Marc Baptiste and Matthew Rolston. It was in Paris working on the “Too Funky” video shoot for George Michael, that Moon realized celebrities were going to be the “next big thing.” Armed with only her strong portfolio, she made the move to Los Angeles. The celebrities quickly gravitated to her as she not only created fashionable hairstyles for them, but was able to adapt hair looks that suited their personalities and made them feel comfortable. Louise’s celebrity resume includes Angelina Jolie, Ben Affleck, Brittney Spears, Matthew McConaughey, Holly Hunter, Daniel Craig, Charlize Theron, Gisele Bundchen and Jennifer Lopez to name a few. Always wanting to expand her skills and grow, Moon went to barbering school and received a barbering license. She has worked with extensions and wigs for decades and learned tricks to make wigs blend in with natural hair, while adding dimension and color. Louise has her finger on the pulse of what is fashionable, while 4 keeping hair looks tasteful and timeless. She also developed an interest in creating hairstyles for characters and continuity with led her to work on two feature films including “Failure To Launch” and “We Are Marshall.” Moon currently resides in Los Angeles where she is not only a freelance artist, but works at two of the top hair salons in town (Sally Hershberger and John Frieda) giving clients cutting edge hairstyles and Great Lengths extensions. Moon is one of the few hairstylists in the U.S. to offer the Fast Fusion system, which applies 10 extensions in 20 seconds. 5.

  • Pirelli Calendar 2010 by Terry Richardson London
Pirelli Calendar 2010 by Terry Richardson London, 19 November 2009 – The 2010 Pirelli Calendar, now in its 37th edition, was presented to the press and to guests and collectors from around the world, at its global premiere in London. The much-awaited appointment with ‘The Cal’, a cult object for over 40 years, was held this year at Old Billingsgate, the suggestive late 19th century building on the banks of the Thames, where from 1875 to 1982 it housed the capital city’s fish market. Following China, immortalized by Patrick Demarchelier in the 2008 edition, and Botswana shot by Peter Beard a year later, 2010 is the year of Brazil and of American photographer Terry Richardson, the celebrated “enfant terrible” known for his provocative and outrageous approach. In the 30 images that scan the months of 2010, Terry Richardson depicts a return to a playful, pure Eros. Through his lens he runs after fantasies and provokes, but with a simplicity that sculpts and captures the sunniest side of femininity. He portrays a woman who is captivating because she is natural, who plays with stereotypes in order to undo them, who makes irony the only veil she covers herself with. This is a return to the natural, authentic atmospheres and images of the ‘60s and ‘70s. It is a clear homage to the Calendar’s origins, a throwback to the first editions by Robert Freeman (1964), Brian Duffy (1965) and Harry Peccinotti (1968 and 1969). Terry Richardson, like his illustrious predecessors, has chosen a simple kind of photography, without retouching, where naturalness prevails over technique and becomes the key to removing artificial excesses in vogue today to reveal the true woman underneath.
