8Th ANNUAL TV LAND AWARDS” THE CAST OF “EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND,” MEL BROOKS, CARL REINER AND CAST MEMBERS FROM “CHARLIE’S ANGELS” AND “GLEE” TOP THE LIST OF TALENT TO BE HONORED AT THE “8th ANNUAL TV LAND AWARDS” Pop Culture Award To Be Given To “Charlie’s Angels” With Special Tribute To Farrah Fawcett Annual TV Land PRIME Original Special Taping Saturday, April 17 At 4:00 p.m. on Sony’s Historic Stage 15 in Culver City, CA And Will Air On April 25 At 9:00 p.m. ET/PT March 15, 2010, Los Angeles, CA – TV Land announced today that legendary comedians Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner; the cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” including Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts, Madylin Sweeten, Sawyer Sweeten and Sullivan Sweeten; “Charlie’s Angels” stars Cheryl Ladd, Jaclyn Smith and “Glee” cast members Jane Lynch, Dianna Agron, Jayma Mays, Jessalyn Gilsig and Kevin McHale are among the honorees at this year’s “8th Annual TV Land Awards” with more talent to be announced soon. The gala is scheduled to be taped on Saturday, April 17 on the historic Stage 15 on the Sony Lot in Culver City. The show premieres on Sunday, April 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The entire cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” will reunite for the first time since the death of fellow cast member Peter Boyle to receive the Impact Award at this year’s show. “Everybody Loves Raymond” ran on CBS for nine successful seasons and joins the TV Land line-up on March 18. This year’s Future Classic Award will be bestowed upon Fox’s runaway hit, “Glee.” Previous future classic recipients include “Desperate Housewives” and “Arrested Development.” Mel Brooks (“Blazing Saddles”) and Carl Reiner (“The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “Ocean’s Eleven”) - the Renaissance Men of Comedy who started out on “Your Show of Shows” - will each receive the Legend Award. This marks the first time that this award will be given to two recipients.     59th Primetime Emmys Winners Revealed Sopranos, 30 Rock Take Top Series Honors September 16, 2007—A notorious crime family, a fictional sketch-comedy show, an iconic singer and a female British detective were among the big winners at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and was telecast on the Fox network. Host for the ceremony was American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. Other highlights included a 30th anniversary tribute to a groundbreaking miniseries and a moving musical send-off to one of the most celebrated series in television history. Among the twenty-nine categories honored, NBC topped the list with seven wins. ABC and HBO followed closely with six winged statuettes each. The Sopranos, the NBC special Tony Bennett: An American Classic, the AMC miniseries Broken Trail and the PBS Masterpiece Theatre production Prime Suspect: The Final Act led the recipients of multiple awards with three each.     THANKSGIVING WITH THE CAST OF “EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND” LET’S SHMUES--CHAT The Yiddish word for “turkey” is “indik.” “Dankbar” is the Yiddish word for “thankful.” By MARJORIE GOTTLIEB WOLFE 46 “milyon” turkeys are eaten each Thanksgiving. Turkey consumption has increased 104% since 1970. And 88% of Americans surveyed by the National Turkey Federation eat turkey on this holiday. Marie Barone (Doris Roberts) is devoted to making sure her boys are well-fed. She gets her adult children back with food. It’s like a culinary hostage trade-off. Marie wants Debra, her daughter-in-law, to be a better cook. She calls her “cooking-challenged” and thinks that she should live directly opposite Zabar’s. Marie want the children to have better food. She says, “A mother’s love for her sons is a lot like a dog’s piercing bark: protective, loyal, and impossible to ignore. Many episodes of “Everybody Loves Raymond” dealt with Thanksgiving.
