ﻣﻠﺨﻣﻠﺨﻣﻠﺨــــــــــــــــــﺺﺺﺺ : : Abstract ﳣﺤﻮر ﻫﺪا اﻟﺒﺤﺚ ﺣﻮل ﺳ ﺘﻌﲈل اﳋﺎﻃﺊ ﻠﻔﻌﻞ This corpus study analyses the wrong use of the verb to exist as *to be exist ﻜﻮن ﻣﻦ ﻃﺮف ﻃﻠﺒﺔ ا ﻠﻐﺔ ﳒﻠﲒﻳﺔ ﻣﻦ اﻟﺘﻌﻠﲓ under various forms and tenses such as *is exists, *are existed, *does not exist, اﻟﻌﺎﱄ ﲜﺎﻣﻌﺔ ٔ درار . ﻳﺘﻜﻮن اﳉﺰء ٔا ﺳﺎﳼ ﻠﺒﺤﺚ and *existness . The corpus consists of more than two thousand exam copies for ٔ ٔ ﻣ ﻠ ٔ the academic years 2003 through 2013 ﻣﻦ ﻛﱶ ﻣﻦ ﻟﻔﲔ ورﻗﺔ ا ﺎن ﺴﺪاﳼ ا ول و ,held at the university of Adrar Department of English. Error Analysis اﻟﺜﺎﱐ ﻟﻌﴩ ﻣﻮاﰟ ﺎﻣﻌﻴﺔ . ٔ ﺳﺎس ﻓﺮﺿﻴﺔ اﻟﺒﺤﺚ considers a fault as mistake or error depending on its frequency of repetition ﻫﻮ ٔ ن ﺳ ﺘﻌﲈل اﳋﺎﻃﺊ ﻠﻔﻌﻞ ﻜﻮ ن ﻻ ﻳﻨﺠﻢ ﻋﻦ and on its over or under-generalisation to the learners. The research contends that ﻟﻄﻠ ﻠ ﻟﻜ ﻔ ’this mistake/error is not the learners ا ﺒﺔ ﺑﻞ ﻫﻮ ﰋ ﻋﻦ ﺘﺪر ﺲ اﳋﺎﻃﺊ ﺔ deed, but is taught to them under that erroneous form in intermediate or اﺳ ﺘﻌﲈ ﰲ ﻣﺪارس اﻟﻄﻮر اﳌﺘﻮﺳﻂ و اﻟﺜﺎﻧﻮي . secondary schools. To substantiate this argument, the survey shows that the wrong verb to *be exist is used by students from different levels (Classical and LMD systems) with different educational and geographical backgrounds.
