INTRODUCTION Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) under the Deptt. of Non- Conventional Energy Sources, Govt. of Punjab, is a Nodal Agency for propagating the objectives of New and Renewable Sources of Energy in the State of Punjab including Solar, Mini hydro, Biomass / Agro - waste based power projects. PEDA has undertaken various programmes for the promotion and popularization of these sources. Comprehensive studies undertaken by PEDA have led to the identification of various potential sources of energy.
