Profile Michael Connors Intikhab’s red evie Michael Connors, otherwise known as Scores 7 in a row ‘Macho’, has been working at Derrinstown Stud for nearly 15 years. Macho is from Cashel, Co. Tipperary and in 1987 started his career working at Ballysheehan Stud, owned by Philip Myerscough. Here he gained experience working with the stallion Fairy King, mares, foals and yearling sales preparation. He spent 5 years at Ballysheehan before moving to Derrinstown Stud in 1992. Red Evie Leopardstown At Derrinstown Macho started off in charge of the ‘16 Yard’ in the Public Stud Red Evie (rated 124 - 09.2006) gave Intikhab another for one season which housed older mares and foals. That autumn he went to Gr.1 success when winning the Gr.1 Matron Stakes at New Zealand for 8 months to broaden his experience. He worked in Pencarrow Leopardstown. This was the 3yo filly’s seventh Stud in Cambridge. Here he carried out general stud work and prepared yearlings victory which also included the Gr.3 Oak Tree Stakes for the sales.
