The June 10 @ Buffalo (Trenton) - G1 W, 3-2 RailRiders added two more in the fifth on a two-run single from Trey Amburgey. @ Buffalo (Trenton) - G2 L, 10-0 June 11 @ Buffalo (Trenton) L, 4-2 Amburgey finished the game 2-for-5, extending his season-long hitting streak to 17 games, the longest hitting streak in Triple-A East this season. June 12 @ Buffalo (Trenton) W, 6-4 (10) Dating back to the end of the 2019 season, Amburgey has hits in 19 consecutive contests, and has reached base safely in 25 straight. June 13 @ Buffalo (Trenton) 1:00 p.m. In the top of the sixth, Armando Alvarez cracked a one-out double and scored on a base-hit by Kellin Deglan to tie the game at 4-4. The RailRiders June 15 Syracuse 7:05 p.m. catcher had a strong night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Reggie McClain, Braden Bristo and Nick Goody combined to throw June 15 Syracuse 7:05 p.m. 6.0 innings of scoreless relief for the RailRiders after Green exited following 3.0 innings of work to force the game into extra innings. It took until Game 33 of the season for the RailRiders to need extra frames to decide a game after 16 extra-inning date location result contests in 2019. SWB went 10-6 in those contests. Andrew Velazquez put the RailRiders PNC Field - Game 2 W, 3-2 on top in the 10th inning when he scampered home on a wild pitch. Overall, the RailRiders have 10 come-from-behind wins this season. May 28 PNC Field Postponed May 29 PNC Field W, 3-2 ON A SILVER TREY: RailRiders outfielder Trey Amburgey has been among the best hitters in all of minor league baseball this season, May 30 PNC Field Postponed and entering play Sunday afternoon, has at least one hit in all 17 games he has played. That stands as the longest active hitting streak in June 8 Trenton Thunder Ballpark W, 7-5 Triple-A East, and is the the longest in the league this season. Dating back to the end of the 2019 season, Amburgey has hit in 19 consecutive June 9 Trenton Thunder Ballpark Postponed games and has at least one hit in 24 of his last 25 contests, and has reached base safely in all of those games. He is hitting .398/.470/.727 June 10 Trenton Thunder Ballpark - G1 W, 3-2 (35-for-88) in that span. The SWB franchise record for longest hitting streak belongs to Pablo Ozuna, who hit in 27 straight games in 2004 for the Red Barons, while the longest on-base streak is Brandon Drury’s 32-game streak in the 2018 season. In 2019 the RailRiders played 11 doubleheaders, going 14-8 overall in those Sept 3 PNC Field 7:05 p.m. skirmishes. SWB played three twin-bills with Buffalo alone in 2019, splitting one at Sahlen Field on June 3 and one at PNC Field on June 27, Sept 4 PNC Field 5:05 p.m. and notching a sweep of one at Sahlen Field on June 5 as well. Because of the two doubleheaders in three days, the RailRiders and Bisons PNC Field Game 2 played each other six times from June 3-6. Game 2 of Thursday’s twin bill also marked the first time that the RailRiders have been shut out Sept 5 PNC Field 1:05 p.m. this season, and the first time that a RailRider has been ejected from a game, with ManagerDoug Davis, Mike Ford, and Socrates Brito all being run from the game in the top of the third. 2019 results: SWB RailRiders, 13-8 BLANKED: When the RailRiders dropped Game 2 of Thursday’s doubleheader to the Buffalo Bisons at Trenton Thunder Ballpark 10-0, it all-time series: RailRiders Lead 208-173 marked the first time this season that the RailRiders failed to score a run in a game. Not only was it the first time that the RailRiders have been shut out this season, but it was the first time that SWB had been shut out in a game since June 27, 2019, when ironically the Buffalo Bisons beat the RailRiders 1-0 in Game 2 of a doubleheader at PNC Field. In between, the RailRiders had gone 93 straight games without railriders at a glance being shut out. This season SWB has only scored fewer than two runs in a game on one other occasion, a 3-1 loss at Rochester on May 23. THIS ROAD TRIP FEELS...FAMILIAR: With the Buffalo Bisons having to play their entire home schedule this season at Trenton Thunder 2021 regular season: 22-11 Ballpark, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will play this series in a familiar setting for many players. From 2003 through 2020, the GB: +1.0 1st, AAA East Northeast Trenton Thunder were the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Sixteen members of the RailRiders roster suited up for the Thunder Home: 10-6 Away: 12-5 under its Yankees affiliation. Adding an extra layer of complexity to the arrangement, Buffalo wears Trenton Thunder jerseys while playing at home, including the alternate “Trenton Pork Roll” identity on Fridays.
