NBC NEWS in NYC is including a TV feature on WoodSongs that will air nationwide Saturday May 6 at 3:20PM EDT during the pre-DERBY broadcast. It’s not a long feature and we don’t want to over-sell this, but 45 sec in front of an estimated network audience of 65 million viewers on a major TV day isn’t bad for a grassroots music show that started out in a small room with 10 people and one radio station airing it. WoodSongs launches on RFD-TV Network beginning Friday July 7. Downtown Lexington is now hosting a broadcast with a bigger audience than the Grand Ole Opry and Austin City Limits combined. WoodSongs partners with the University of Kentucky on a major education initiative. Select TV broadcasts of WoodSongs are assembled with lesson plans for middle, high and college level classes, all of which is FREE to teachers and home school families.
