Další stroje, kompletně vybavené pro službu na moři a upravené z verze Spitfire Mk.VB se označovaly Seafire Mk.IB. S přechodem výroby B Spitfirů na verzi MK.VC se objevila i nová verze Seafiru, označená Mk.IIC. Podle verze použitého motoru se stroje dále rozlišovaly na stroje pro nízké výšky L. Mk.IIC a výškovější Mk.IIC či stíhací průzkumné LR Mk.IIC. Tyto verze nasadilo Royal Navy jak při vyloděních v Africe a Itálii, tak v akcích v Atlantiku a posléze i v Indickém oceánu.
