Landsvägarna följer mycket gamla sträckningar – se t. ex. gamla riksvägen genom Backa, Prästvägen Lundby-Tuve och gamla vägen genom Lilleby. När sedan industrialiseringen sköljde över Sverige i det sena 1800-talet hann inte riktigt generalstaben med.
