He said he is ready to move on, but that he will always look back fondly on his time with the water department. “It’s been a very rewarding experience,” he said. “It’s been fun working with everyone and watching the water utility grow. Summer 2018 • Our Brown Deer 13 MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT Spring Projects, Summer Events

am pleased to report that our DPW facility project located on land just east I of the Village Hall is moving forward and we hope to have shovels in the ground this spring. This project will increase efficiency and have cost savings over the next 50 to 60 years. Having all the Village President Carl Krueger Village facilities consolidated in one area will also make it more convenient for the residents. The DPW will also be doing a project to combat water inflow and infiltration from private sewer laterals this summer. This project will affect approximately 75 homes in the Green Knoll subdivision and involves inspecting and relining the private property sewer lines. I am happy to report that this work will not cost the homeowners anything because of funding obtained in grants from MMSD. As the warmer months come our Village activities start up beginning with the Deer Run on Saturday, April 28. This year, I encourage you to resolve to walk or run in the Deer Run. All proceeds go to the Brown Deer Foundation to support other public activities all year long. The Eat and Greet in the Original Village is scheduled for Saturday, June 2 and promises to be the best festival yet. There will be music, activities and, of course, food and drink. I will be looking forward to seeing everyone there!
