Trout Lake Lunch

To the French a reservation at ´midi' means an arrival between midday and 13.30. To the English 'midi' means 'midi' and therefore it was no surprise that members arrived at the Trout Lake from about 11.30 and that everybody was seated by midday.

We have held a lunc h at t his venue now for 5 years and so most of us wer e familiar with the rustic nature of the venue. We were treated to a sumptuous meal comprising an amuse bouche of 4 separate items, a salmon starter, chicken main course and dessert, again of 3 parts. Alternative dishes were offered to those with allergies etc.

42 members and guests attended and, from the volume of conversation, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was also a birthday celebration for Bill Naisbitt, who received the usual “firework” dessert.
