December 2017 Newsletter No 186 Barjols Treasure Hunt Somebody must have heard that the BAV was to hold a walking treasure hunt around Barjols! The forecast had been for a full day of rain but, although somewhat chilly, it turned out to be dry with some sunshine. 34 members and friends supported the event and thoroughly enjoyed the gentle stroll around the town discovering little known enclaves. The phrase to be heard after the walk was largely that ‘we must spend more time here’. There are around 27 fountains around the town, some of which have developed over the years into various shapes, and the ‘treasure hunt’ largely featured many of these, together with the general history of the town. The walk was finished off nicely with a very pleasant lunch at Hotel Pont D’Or. The winner of the ‘treasure hunt’ was a team comprising Tim Molyneaux, Katrina Donaldson and Peter and Monique Holdway, who won bottles of wine. Thank you to Kevin Bell, our departing Events Coordinator, and Maria Bell for arranging this interesting day out. MajorLooking taxto expand reforms your inportfolio? France. How do they affect you?
