It becomes Mondays - 7:00pm (Chapel) a chore, just one more thing to check off a list of things to do. * Livestreamed service That empties it of its spiritual power and robs us of the joy that Communion Schedule Christ and the Scriptures assign to it. 1st & 3rd Sundays - Sunday services; 9:00, 10:30am On top of that, since this generosity is linked to faith and knowl- 2nd, 4th & 5th Sundays - 8:00am Sunday and Monday 7:00pm edge of divine things, a lack of excelling in giving is sure sign that our faith and knowledge of God are under attack as well. We thank them for using their voices to enhance the worship experience at Redeemer. Julie is filling in for Ali- son until February 28th, and Michele will be with us up until the summer. (continued from page 2) And since Christ who was rich became poor so that we might be rich in His grace—of which generous giving is part—so we also who are rich in His grace can excel in pressing His grace into service toward the gra- cious work of the church. Pay attention to what you give to the church so that you may excel at it. And if you find that your heart has grown cold or indifferent toward it, immerse yourself in God’s Word. Read it at home. Attend Bible Class. Hear and listen to it preached in the Divine Service. Be reminded of what Christ has done for you in His incarnation, suffering, and death.

  • July Schwenkey Connections
The SchwenKEY Connections July 2021 Monthly Edition First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” I Timothy 2:1-2 Love God. Serve Others. Grow Disciples. JULY, 2021 Dear Church Family, I trust that you are enjoying your summer and hopefully planning a vacation or a fun activity. In September, I will celebrate 19 years on the pastoral staff of this great church. According to the Employee Handbook, a member of the pastoral staff is allowed a six-month sabbatical every seven years. I have had the pleasure of taking a three-month sabbatical in 2010 and another three months in 2014. I would like to step away for the purpose of rest and study beginning on July 6 and returning on October 6. During this time, I anticipate worshipping at Central, but the day- to-day operations, as well as the teaching and preaching will be covered by my able colleagues, Rev. Julian and Rev. Dr. Drake. Throughout the summer, we will welcome guest preachers such as Rev. Roger Wambold, Rev. Bob Krauss, Jr. and Rev. Alfred Duncan. Our Director of Youth Ministries, James Stevenson will preach one Sunday as well as conduct the mission-themed worship services in August. I would appreciate your prayers for me during this time. May the Lord bless your summer. I look forward to seeing you around. Yours in Christ, Pastor David “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

Many of the films listed were made in a time when filmmakers had to refrain from including curse words, exploitive sexuality or desensitizing violence. To younger members of the family, that means, these films are old! Understandably, a younger generation will not relate to styles and mannerisms of a time gone by, but here is something to keep in mind. Though haircuts change and clothing tightens, people all desire to be warm, to be fed, to be loved, to be respected, etc. In other words, we share a commonality with those of all generations. We’re really not all that different from one another. The following movies will entertain because they contain the most special special effect of all: great storytelling.
