03. FACEBOOK: Think of Facebook as a secondary site, in its own world, and very simple to manage. You have all these people that are going on Facebook to seek information, whatever that might be, so let’s try and get your business in front of their face.

Whether you already have a customer following or are looking to generate new leads, advertising on Facebook is highly targeted. On each of your posts you will notice a button that says ‘Boost Post’. What this button does is allow you to promote that post to a certain demographic on Facebook.

What you can do is pick who you want to see your post. Are they Male or Female? Of a certain age? Follow a specific group or company on Facebook? Or live in a certain area (Yes you can target people in your area only). Facebook knows a lot about us!

Example: Lets ‘Boost’ a post that you put up about the $699 HRR216 Lawnmower. I would target people that like Bunnings or Masters, My age preference would be 25 – 50 year old Males that live around the Campbellfield area. Let’s drop $100 and see what it gets me. Facebook will provide you with results of reach (How many people your ad was displayed to) plus other interactional segments. The saying ‘a picture says a thousand words’ couldn’t be any more relevant. Always put up a photo of the product and in the caption write something that will capture people looking for this product.

TWITTER: So let’s talk Twitter. Think of twitter as a way to link current news, special offers or aspects of your business to customers. Each ‘tweet’ is like a teaser to link to another platform (Ideally your website). You could promote that HRR216 Lawnmower and tweet it to your followers. The hard thing with twitter is getting people to follow you. If you have someone that can work on obtaining followers, tweeting regularly with relevant information then go for it. It’s super easy and powerful, but getting that following is probably your main bridge to cross. Like YouTube, twitter is a platform where you offer expertise and remember the content you tweet doesn’t have to be original.

Honda dealerships can be very busy, so having time put aside for social media can be hard. Sticking with these four main platforms will help you stand out from the crowd and not only help generate business but keep your old customers coming back. There may be some platforms that work better for you, and others that don’t so get out there a give it a crack.

All in all - Think of advertising as if you where fishing. Sure you got a line in the ocean and there’s plenty of fish. But it’s until you use the right bait, in the right location, for the right fish – then you will increase your chances of getting a bite.

09. 10. All in on All 4 Adventure Season 7

Honda Marine is once again getting behind one of Australia’s premier wildlife adventure shows, All 4 Adventure. After the massive success that Season 6 had on Channel 10, it’s fantastic to be part of Season 7, in which 12 episodes are to be broadcast.

“Following the support of Honda Marine in the previous seasons Honda is again powering All 4 Adventure Season 7, with two BF20s and Honda’s flagship BF250” host Jason “Jase” Andrews commented.

Aligning with Honda again was an easy decision “The two things we need from the outboards we use are fuel efficiency and reliability. Honda has both. The four- engines have the ability to go twice the distance on the same amount of fuel as a conventional two-stroke; in season 6 we didn’t even bother carrying an auxiliary engine due to the confidence we have in Honda’s engines.”

Honda’s National Sales Manager, Chris New, is excited about the prospect of more exposure for the Honda Marine brand. “Being involved with All 4 Adventure is a great opportunity for Honda”, he said.

“The program will be broadcasted nationally, and will again showcase some of the most unique and beautiful areas that Northern Australia has to offer. Jase and his team work hard to ensure that they work and travel with reliable and consistent machinery, so it’s a vote of confidence for Honda that they acknowledge our products as the most appropriate for their needs”.
