At the Narayever our philosophy is that no member David Barkin should ever be turned away as a result of their inability Membership Chair to pay the full dues. I spoke with a number of members [email protected] over the past few months who found themselves in difficult financial situations. I am pleased to report Our Condolences to... that in every instance we were able to work out payment arrangements that allowed these members to continue as part of our shul community. These Tamara Brooks, on the passing arrangements were made with an emphasis on of her mother Shirley Brooks confidentiality, compassion, dignity and respect. It is Anna Greenblatt, on the passing difficult to ask for help and it is a mitzvah for us to of her mother Beatrice Roness provide it. Unfortunately, we do not know how many members find themselves unable to pay the full dues Miriam Schlanger, on the passing and instead of seeking help simply leave the shul. I of her daughter Liba Berry would encourage anyone in this situation to contact me or the Rabbi.

THE SHUL’S BEAUTIFUL NEW FRONT DOORS The last few years had not been good to our shul's front doors and they had become very weather beaten and shabby. In late September, we finally replaced them with brand new beautiful solid wood doors treated in such a way as to stand up to our severe winters. Thank you to Gary Lichtblau for spearheading this project, and to Miriam Schlanger for making a substantial donation towards our new doors with the proceeds of her challah baking fundraising.
