  • Road to the 2022 Mixed Doubles Olympic Curling Trials Curling Canada | 2021 Trials Process Revised
July 20, 2021 Road to the 2022 Mixed Doubles Olympic Curling Trials Curling Canada | 2021 Trials process revised The Mixed Doubles (MD) Olympic Curling Trials will be held December 28 – January 2, 2022, at Stride Place in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba with 16 qualified teams competing in 2 pools of 8. Teams already qualified for the MD Trials: Jocelyn Peterman/Brett Gallant (CMDR as of May 20, 2020) Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (CMDR as of May 20, 2020) Nancy Martin/Tyrel Griffith (CMDR as of May 20, 2020) Rachel Homan/John Morris (CMDR as of May 20, 2020) Kerri Einarson/Brad Gushue (2021 Canadian Mixed Doubles Champions) Kadriana Sahaidak/Colton Lott (2021 Canadian Mixed Doubles – 2nd Place) Additional Information on the CMDR and MD Olympic Curling Trials Qualification Process: A team’s Canadian Mixed Doubles Ranking (CMDR) will consist of each athlete’s best 7 events (max 3 CTRS) from March 15, 2019, to December 14, 2021 (“the qualifying period”). CMDR points will continue to be earned on an individual basis, meaning you still do not need to be playing with your teammate to earn CMDR points in a MD event. The current CMDR totals (including a separate list excluding CTRS) are displayed on the Curling Canada website. Individual point totals for MD athletes can also found in the CMDR detail spreadsheet posted on the Curling Canada website. There is no minimum MD event requirement for a team to be included on the CMDR at the start of the 2021-22 season. Each individual is still required to play in a minimum of 2 MD events over the qualifying period to be considered eligible for a CMDR Olympic Trials Berth, including a minimum of 1 event together with your teammate prior to November 29, 2021.
