Hello groovy ladies of Oregon Job's Daughters!

I hope everyone enjoyed the short month of February. I cannot believe how fast this year is going by! I am so excited for all of the fun events that are coming up! I get the pleasure of co-hosting the Mr. Oregon Job's Daughters pageant with Mr. Art Bush on February 28th. Statewide Initiation is the very next day along with DJR and the talent show! I know all the girls in Oregon are talented so I should see everyone up there showing off! And then we have...GRAND BETHEL WEEKEND!! Pack your bags for a totally groovy weekend, March 21-23 in Eugene!! We have so many fun activities that will be going on that I can't even fit them all in this letter so I guess you'll just have to come and see what we have planned, man! I realized that there wasn't a packing list for the weekend but make sure to bring sleeping stuff (don't forget your pillow pets!) good clothes to run around Eugene for a while in (why? you have to come and see!!) toiletries, a skirt or knee length for congress (when we elect our new GBSP and GBHQ!!) and warm fuzzy pajamas! Have any questions? Call me or Mrs. Coulter!

February has been a fun month! February 1st, I attended the SMC reception and State Sweethearts , and danced all night! A HUGE thank you to Bethel UD in Canby for letting me protem as HQ on the 18th! It was a successful meeting and it was awesome to see so many girls looking at me from the floor. Best wishes for your continued success in growing your bethel. On the 21st I made my way out to Troutdale for Bethel 19's Housewarming ! I understand that they now have FOUR prospect members! What an awesome fundraiser!! And on the 22nd, Miss Chelsea and I went to Occasional Grand Lodge in Portland and spoke about Job's Daughters. It was amazing speaking in front of so many men who do so much for us!

I hope to see all of you at upcoming events! I am planning to come to as many bethel meeting as I can this month so watch for me!

Peace, love and Jobies, Hunter Perkins GBHQ

To my Oregon Bethel Sisters, I attended the Occasional Grand Lodge and it was an amazing experience. There were about fifteen lodges represented, which was an outstanding turn out. We learned about the different programs that our Oregon Masons have including outreach to our Masonic and Eastern Star home. They also have a wonderful program to get into the schools and help raise a reader, which is when the Masons work with a school and get books cycled through the school and helps kids read. At the end of the meeting there were questions to the Grand Master and two were Job’s Daughter related. Ok, one was from me. I asked him how many Bethels are in Oregon at this time. His answer was only one Bethel off. Most Worshipful Grand Master, David Fryday talked extensively about wanting to work with Oregon’s Masonic Youth. I know that Oregon Job’s Daughters have wanted to work more closely with our Masons. The want is mutual ladies; we just need to approach our Masons. Mr. Fryday had a wonderful and thought provoking saying that I would like to share “We don’t spend time debating things but spend the time accomplishing things.” He was referring to what happens during the Mason’s meetings.

This is a good saying and something that I want to carry with me and hope it will be an inspiration to all of you. Another thing that was said was if you want to get something done ask a busy person. I know everyone is busy with school, sports, dance or drama but I still want to keep my challenge to all Oregon Bethels to collect items such as new under wear for woman and youth, socks, personal care products and gently used coats. There are many woman and children who do not have a home to go to tonight and a gift of something as simple as a new pair of under wear or socks could help lift their spirits. I hope that each Bethel in the state will help by starting to collect items to donate to a shelter in their area. What a great way to share the love and compassion of Job’s Daughters.

I am also excited to announce the Miss Oregon Job’s Daughter Auction on Sunday April 27, 2014 from 1 to 4 pm at the Children’s Cottage at the McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. There are some exciting auction items already! Including an over night stay at the River Place in Bend, Oregon. I would love each Bethel to donate a basket to the auction and of course attend. You could plan a visit to your Masonic Grandparents while you are in the area, I know they enjoy the visits.

Please save the date of May 3, 2014 for Heritage Day in Wilsonville at the Shrine Center. More details will be coming soon.

Hello Jobies!

My name is Emily Blomberg and I am from Fort Collins, Colorado. I am 15 years old. I live with my mom, dad, and my younger sister. She is the Senior Princess for our Bethel. I am a sophomore in high school and enjoy all of my classes. I play one sport and that is golf. I played on my high school team last year and plan to play again this year. In my spare time I enjoy reading and writing stories, as well as hanging out with all of my friends. In my Jobie life I hold the position of Model Bethel Junior Princess and the

Grand Bethel representative to Montana, Wyoming, and Oregon. In my own Bethel, I am the Honored

Queen. I am a member of Bethel #28 in Fort Collins and have been a member for about four and a half years.

In our Bethel we have a ton of fun activities we do such as corn mazes, movie nights, and ice skating. We also participate in Santa Cops, which is an organization that gathers toys and clothes and people come and volunteer to wrap up presents that are requested by kids for Christmas. Those presents are sent off by Santa Cops and the kids and their families get a great Christmas surprise! It is a ton of fun! We have two main fundraisers that occur every year. The first is in the winter and it is the Bazaar. Small business owners come into the Masonic Temple and set up tables. People from around the community come to the bazaar and have the opportunity to get some of their holiday shopping done. There are a ton of things for the girls to do including running the kitchen, greeting people at the door, and running our Job’s Daughters table. We also have a hanging flower basket sale in the spring. Both of these are a lot of fun. Other activities my Bethel participates in is helping out the Eastern Star and the Masons who also meet in the building with dinners. We help carry plates, clear away the tables, and every once in a while, we pull everyone off their feet to help get their dances started. With between 7 and 13 active members we get to do a ton of different things to help out. In June, all of the bethels in Colorado get

together to hold competitions and fun activities called Grand Session, as well. It is a great time to get to know other girls from around Colorado in Job’s.

I am very interested in what you and your Bethel does. What do you like to do? What do you do for fun activities? What kind of fundraisers and service projects do you do? How many girls do you have in your

Bethel? What kind of things do you do, if you do, to help out other Masonic organizations? What are your goals for the coming terms both for yourself and for your Bethel? Tell me about your state events.

I am looking forward to hearing your response!

Jobie Love,

Emily Blomberg

March 2014

Happy March Oregon Jobies and Adults!

March has come in like a lion…let’s hope the month will go out like a lamb!

Congratulations to our new Mr. Job’s Daughter 2014 Mr. Kevin Gladysz representing Bethel #66. Thank you to everyone for supporting our pageant for the GGC ways and means. Thanks also to Mrs. Horn for chairing the event. We all had such a fun time.

State Wide Initiation was beautiful ~ thank you Grand Bethel Officers for the truly amazing ritual work. You girls are the best!

Grand Bethel Weekend is our next state event. Does your Bethel have prospective members? Jobie-2-B’s? Bring them with you for all the fun in Eugene. Remember registration is due soon and the cost includes meals.

Mr. DeClercque reminds everyone that Grand Session is fast approaching and the Bethel who initiates the most members will have the choice of shaving his head or smashing cream pies in his face! Winning Bethels will be based on number initiated and per capita gain. Let’s share the Enthusiasm!

As we have traveled the state, the Grand Officers have noticed many talented daughters…we hope you will consider Grand Session Competitions! Registrations and information are located in the Guardians’ orange notebooks, and will soon be up on the website.

May the luck of the Irish be with you.

Jobie love,
