Walt Ryan who started the year in FP with a couple of wins and moved to Spec Miata was our Rookie of the Year. Charlie and the other Road Racing drivers in attendance received their Mohawk Hudson Region Club Racing t-shirts. The shirts were once again funded by Charlie Campbell and Gene Tricozzi. Charlie operates Campbell Trucking in Corey, Pa. and Gene is president of Northern Funding, a mortgage company in Clifton Park. I have just received my 2009 GCR, Stewards and drivers in the warm climates receive them first, I would expect most drivers should receive them within a few weeks. Take time to read both the GCR and the Car Specifications for your class. Changes from 2008 have a black sidebar next to them and the new wording is in italics. Now is the time to get ready for spring tech. Be certain to read the section on Drivers Safety Equiptment-9.3.19 pages 75, 76. If you have an older driver’s suit, you may have to get a new one. If you have not yet received your GCR it should be available on line at scca.com. MoHud will be putting on a National Race and Pro IT race at Lime Rock on July 31and August 1, 2009. SIMONE A DISSERTATION PRESENTED TO THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA 2009 1 © 2009 Daniel J. Simone 2 To Michael and Tessa 3 ACKNOWLEDGMENTS A driver fails without the support of a solid team, and I thank my friends, who supported me lap-after-lap. I learned a great deal from my advisor Jack Davis, who when he was not providing helpful feedback on my work, was always willing to toss the baseball around in the park. I must also thank committee members Sean Adams, Betty Smocovitis, Stephen Perz, Paul Ortiz, and Richard Crepeau as well as University of Florida faculty members Michael Bowen, Juliana Barr, Stephen Noll, Joseph Spillane, and Bill Link. I respect them very much and enjoyed working with them during my time in Gainesville. I also owe many thanks to Dr. Julian Pleasants, Director Emeritus of the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program, and I could not have finished my project without the encouragement provided by Roberta Peacock. I also thank the staff of the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program. Finally, I will always be grateful for the support of David Danbom, Claire Strom, Jim Norris, Mark Harvey, and Larry Peterson, my former mentors at North Dakota State University. A call must go out to Tom Schmeh at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, Suzanne Wise at the Appalachian State University Stock Car Collection, Mark Steigerwald and Bill Green at the International Motor Racing Resource Center in Watkins Glen, New York, and Joanna Schroeder at the (former) Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC).

The 6.6-mile chain ran through the streets of the village, starting and ending in front of Schuyler County Court House. Permits from six government agencies are required for the closure of public roads for this event; State, County, Village, Reading, Dix and the New York State Parks Commission. • Lexus Partners with F Performance Racing for 2016 and Beyond
Lexus Partners with F Performance Racing for 2016 and Beyond November 02, 2015 LAS VEGAS (Nov. 2, 2015) – Lexus today announced its motorsports partnership with Paul Gentilozzi and newly formed F Performance Racing to field the RC F GT3 in a soon to be announced sports car series. This new racing venture is part of the Lexus’ global motorsports effort that will see the Japanese luxury brand competing on tracks in the United States beginning in 2016. The new race vehicle is based upon the production Lexus RC F high performance coupe that went on sale at the end of 2014. “A core mission of F Performance Racing was to strengthen the Lexus’ F brand by applying lessons gleaned from racing, while nurturing an engineering culture that transfers that knowledge to dynamic, high performance passenger car development. We are very excited about what this partnership and race effort can mean for the brand in the years to come,” said Jeff Bracken, group vice president and general manager, Lexus division. Veteran driver and road racing legend Scott Pruett will pilot the RC F GT3, bringing a wealth of experience to bear during the vehicle development phase. F Performance Racing will campaign a limited schedule in 2016. In its inaugural year, the team’s primary focus will involve developing the race organization while gathering data and track experience to help further propel vehicle development. For the 2017/18 season, the plan calls for F Performance Racing and Pruett to participate in a full sports car racing schedule with a multi-vehicle effort.

The first spring NCRS activity this year was the Mason Dixon Chapter Meet at Adams Chevrolet in Havre de Grace, Maryland on Sunday, March 29th. Each yearr many of ou members volunteer to judge or just attend at this meet since it is less than an hour away for most of us and it is the first Corvette activity in the spring after a long cold winter. Everyone seems to be anxious to restart the Corvette season when March rolls around. Unfortunately it was unseasonably cold on March 29th. It was in the mid‐twenties at 7AM. The operations checks including cold starts were made particularly difficult because, believe me when I tell you, it was not comfortable. Furthermore, the parking lot was covered with many puddles of rain water from the previous day that had frozen solid overnight and it was very tough for the judges as well as the owners trying to navigate around the frozen puddles while going through operations checks. But once we gote insid where it was warm for actual flight judging it was very comfortable.
