About the role

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) group provides specialist expertise in constitutional and public law, statutory interpretation and the development, implementation and administration of legislation. As well as providing constitutional advice, OGC specialises in acting for the Commonwealth in constitutional litigation and coordinating the conduct of other cases involving constitutional or national security issues.

The Commercial practice group works with a wide range of Commonwealth agencies across all areas of commercial law to develop innovative solutions to their legal issues and to implement commercially and legally robust approaches to some of the largest projects in which the Australian Government is involved.

The Dispute Resolution practice group provides specialist expertise in resolving and managing disputes across many areas of law. It acts for regulatory agencies in enforcing the law, protects sensitive information from disclosure, defends government decisions and responds to claims made against the Commonwealth. It is often involved in the largest and most sensitive matters affecting the Australian Government.

In this role you will:

• lead and have senior professional responsibility for supporting the delivery of AGS’s legal technology services • drive innovation to support AGS being a leader in the effective deployment of legal technology tools across all of its legal practice areas, but with a particular focus on the identification of new technology and its use in litigation and large projects • have a high level of engagement with senior government stakeholders and external service providers to identify and implement legal technology solutions.

About you

This role will suit an experienced Senior Executive with knowledge and experience in legal technology solutions that support large litigation matters and legal projects. The successful candidate will ideally have:

• demonstrated knowledge of new and emerging legal technology tools relevant to the work of AGS • demonstrated recent experience in working in a large scale litigation or equivalent projects • strong strategic thinking skills and an outcomes focus, including the ability to identify key stakeholder interests and manage these to deliver effective client and business focused outcomes • experience in, or the ability to acquire an in depth knowledge of, the Commonwealth legal environment • the ability to lead teams and guide and mentor more junior lawyers • excellent client relationships skills and professional leadership skills.

Duties

Reporting to the Assistance Director and Chief Experience Officer your will be responsible for developing and implementing the Museum’s digital strategies and deliver innovative, digital experiences across all areas of the museum. The role also takes responsibility for improving the museum’s audience insights and visitor research programs together with leading the digital team to achieve Museum’s digital engagement. This role has a high level of autonomy to deliver projects on time, within budget and to expectations, in terms of quality, deliverables and outcomes. You will be a key leader, working across the organisation to increase digital awareness, engagement and capability and will build networks across the national/state cultural institutions, universities and research organisations.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a passion for, and knowledge of, new technology, and a pragmatic understanding of how to implement sustainable and cost-effective digital innovation that optimises visitor experiences and delivers a positive return on investment in terms of both reach and depth of visitor engagement.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the Museum’s Digital Strategy planning process to develop and implement various experiences to increase Museum’s digital capability and introduce innovative digital initiatives across all divisions. Develop and implement an effective digital outreach and digital public engagement plan. Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the Museum’s Digital Strategy. Build stakeholder relationships (internal and external). Increase digital awareness and capability across the Museum. Work with the People and Culture team to ensure training in digital skills is strategically planned and delivered across the organisation. Work with the ICT team to identify and prioritise museum infrastructure improvements required for the delivery of the digital engagement strategy. Create clear performance delivery goals, measures, plans for the development, implementation, review, and evaluation of multiple integrated initiatives to identify and manage risk and build a culture of customer service and stakeholder engagement. Lead, manage, coach, mentor and develop a high performing and innovative digital experience team with clear understanding of the ANMM’s digital strategy and the team’s work direction and key priorities.

Key Selection Criteria:

Excellent understanding of digital technology and its application in the cultural sector, particularly in collecting and public engagement institutions. Knowledge of the application of creative and innovative digital engagement and commercial tools experiences within the museum sector and capacity to share current practice with other museum teams. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and a high willingness to collaborate with others to experiment and deliver innovative outcomes. Capacity to coach and mentor others and to develop teams. Pragmatic capacity to identify projects with a high end-user/visitor experience and return-on-investment focus and carry them through. Experience in working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated high level team leadership and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically while maintaining attention to detail and operational delivery on time and budget. Demonstrated understanding of the key issues of current online developments and standards, statistics, accessibility and usability principles.

Duties

As AD Warrant Operations you will provide support and assurance in relation to warrant documentation processes and policies to clients engaged in special powers operations across ASIO. Your duties will include:

Liaison with in-house legal counsel, investigative and operational areas and technical specialists to advance and then implement special powers operations including warrants and special intelligence operations; Provide assurance advice to clients regarding policy and legislative process; Liaison with the Attorney-General’s Office to coordinate presentation of warrant applications; Produce, analyse and report information on ASIO special powers to senior executives; and Lead a small team in warrants processes, systems and practice.
