Tel: +886-9-23500917 e-mail: [email protected] Abstract Under the circumstances derived by the western cultural policy, Taiwan was impelled to propose the cultural industry in 1995, and continued proposing the cultural intention industry in 2002. It not only explored Taiwan among cultural policies, but economical theory has constant enhancement, and the economic industrial policies have combined closely. According to the civilization and constriction council, in the nearly eleven years from 83 to 93, a run-up in relevant festival celebration of culture activities, It has the tendency to increase gradually in influencing on crowd and consumption capacity. Especially, the degree of consumption of the culture goods is the focus for paying attention to. Because the culture goods are process ways for the local industry and national economy combination, so our country needs to pay attention to this topic even more. The town Caotun, Nantou County, Taiwan, positively derived local industry to develop the culture industry. Although the people in the town positively tried to develop the local culture industry by holding variety cultural festival celebrations to promote the cultural business opportunity with the accumulated cultures and experience in managing the local industry in decades, it seems unable to reach the goal of 'culturalization of the products, and commercialization of the culture'. -

A Study of Comfort Elements Combine with Local Mascot The Case of Yunlin Townships Wen-Ying Chiu, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Wen-Shan Chang, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan The Asian Conference on the Social Sciences 2017 Official Conference Proceedings Abstract Yunlin County, which located in south-west of Taiwan, west of the Taiwan Strait and consists of twenty townships. Due to its plain ground and fertile soil environment advantages which suits for agriculture, it has been being the main supplier of rice and vegetables, which had made a great contribution to Taiwan. E-mail: [email protected] Abstract The fiddler crab, Uca splendida (Stimpson, 1858) has been synonymized under Uca crassipes (White, 1847) since Crane (1975). Studies of specimens from the Hong Kong type locality and adjacent areas of China, Taiwan and Vietnam show that U. splendida is a valid species, with a characteristic suite of carapace and gonopod features as well as a distinct cytochrome oxidase I (COI) signature. Genetic work shows that U. splendida belongs to a well-supported clade and is the sister species of U. crassipes. The distribution of U. splendida is restricted to continental East and continental Southeast Asia, in contrast to the oceanic distribution of U. crassipes. Both species, however, are sympatric in Penghu Islands, western Taiwan and Dongsha Island (=Pratas Island). Key words: Uca splendida, U. crassipes, U. chlorophthalmus, South China Sea, Taiwan Strait, cytochrome oxidase I, taxonomy Introduction Uca crassipes (White, 1847) is a common broad-fronted species of fiddler crab distributed widely in the western and central Pacific Ocean and the eastern margin of the Indian Ocean (Crane 1975). -
Planning the Collection and Transportation of Rice Straw in Nantou County, Taiwan
PLANNING THE COLLECTION AND TRANSPORTATION OF RICE STRAW IN NANTOU COUNTY, TAIWAN Y.-C. Chiu, S.-J. Guo, S. Chen, C.-Y. Tsai, J.-M. Tsai ABSTRACT. The purpose of this study was to design a rice straw collection and transportation method. Four bale forms were designed for processing 75,474 tons of rice straw produced in Nantou County: large large-round bale, small large- round bale, large small-round bale, and small small-round bale. Nine trucks, individually weighing 2, 3, 3.49, 6.2, 7.5, 11, 15.5, 17, and 24 tons, were used for transportation analysis. This study proposed six hypothetical scenarios for rice straw collection and transportation. For each scenario, centralized and noncentralized transportation were implemented, in which centralized transport involves a route from various townships to neighboring farmers’ associations to the final rice- straw treatment site, and noncentralized transport is direct delivery from various townships to the final treatment site. A geographic information system was consulted to construct a map for the locations of various townships and to assess the optimal routes for rice straw collection and transport. Considering the trucks of varying weights, the transportation costs of various rice straw delivery methods were calculated to determine the optimal collection and transportation locations. The results revealed that the optimal plant locations for rice straw processing and distribution are the rice straw production areas in Caotun Township, Nantou, Mingjian Township, and Jhushan Township. A centralized transportation of small large-round bale was the optimal method and form. The cost of rice straw collection and transportation is US$31.66 and US$20.7 per ton, respectively. -
