PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Osceola, the Greatest Elementary School in the World! Our motto is “We are not here to be average. We are here to be AWESOME!” I want to share with you how we live up to it. This past month we participated in “Pasta for Pennies” to raise money for Leukemia research and our school raised over $1100.00. Mrs. Fischer’s class raised the most, with over $400.00! We also continued our Attendance Challenge with Ormond Beach Elementary in February. We walked to the top of the Granada Bridge and compared our daily attendance average for the month. It was close, but we won by 0.16%! The trophy is proudly displayed in the main office for all to see. Finally, I have been spending a great deal of time in the classrooms the past few weeks and what I have seen is amazing! I encourage all parents to talk with your child about how discussions occur in class, what they are learning about and what they like best about #AwesomeOsceola. Students are having conversations that just inspire me as the Principal of our school. The teachers are teaching and the students are learning in ways that are beyond my wildest dreams! All the teachers, students and staff members lead our school in unique ways that result in what makes Osceola awesome! Thank you everyone! Enjoy the spring break!

Sincerely, Kevin Flassig

MESSAGE FROM YOUR TOA

What an amazing couple of months it has been here at Osceola. There have been so many fun, engaging events that make me proud to be the TOA of the greatest school in the world! The African American Read-In was a huge success. Many community partners and guest readers came to make this event memorable. A special thanks to Mrs. Dockery and her team for their planning and organization. Seeing the looks on our students’ faces as they learned a little about history and enjoyed a good book was priceless. The FSA Pep Rally brought a smile to my face. The fourth and fifth grade teams, with the help of Mrs. Greene, put on an amazing showing of school spirit and positive energy. I have never been so excited for testing season before! The event was filled with high energy, great music and awesome drum cadences from our very own Mr. Flassig. It was truly spectacular! Please remember that this time of year can be very stressful for students. Encourage your student to come to school with a positive attitude each day. The Osceola expectations of be safe, be respectful, be responsible and be cooperative help us keep our campus awesome and are always important to review. They help guide our behaviors and actions each day. Sincerely, Amber McAndrew Thank you for all you do to make Osceola AWESOME!!!
