Ufone Ufone GSM is a Pakistani GSM cellular service provider, It's one of five GSM Mobile companies in Pakistan, and is a subsidiary ofPakistan Telecommunication Company. After the privatization of PTCL, Ufone is now owned by Etisalat. Ufone has a subscriber base of 20.23 million as of September 2010. Ufone Cellular Company INTRODUCTION TO UFONE Ufone is a newly cellular company as compared to others like Mobilink, Zong(Paktel), Instaphone operating inPakistan, providing cellular services for Eight years now. Ufone services are offered by Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), a 100% owned subsidiary of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). Established to operate cellular telephony. The company commenced its operations, under the brand name of Ufone, from Islamabad on January 29, 2001. and subsequently extended its coverage to other cities i.e. Lahore, Karachi, Kohat, Jehlum,Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sheikhopura. In addition to the road coverage on Peshawar-Islamabad-Lahore section. Till now its coverage has been extended to more than 750 cities. In Peshawar its operation were started on 7th of May, 2001. Ufone, the brand name of the service, has been a highly successful venture touching 120000 subscribers in less than four months of its operations. Event Report of Capacity Building Training Workshop on Islamic Finance in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Islamabad November 1-2, 2017 Registration of Participants Registered participants from various banks and ullemas started arriving at the given time. Members of organizing committee welcomed the distinguished guests and confirmed their registration at registration desk. Opening Ceremony The opening ceremony started on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 with the recitation of Al-Quran. Mr Yasir Kundi,Lecturer Department of Management Sciences, recited verses from Al-Quran on the essence of faith in ALLAH TAALHA. The ceremony was presided by honourable chief guest Prof. Dr. Khalid Riaz, Dean Faculty of Business Administration, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Dr. Abdus Sattar Abbasi, Head of Center of Islamic Finance (CIF) and Mufti Irshad Ahmad Aijaz, Chairman Supervisory Board, BankIslami Pakistan Limited. Dr. Abdus Sattar Abbasi, Head of CIF and Managing Editor CJIF welcomed all the participants and briefed about the activities held at Center of Islamic Finance (CIF). He told the audience that CIF is serving the noble cause of promoting research, training & development, Shariah advisory and extensive outreach in the area of Islamic finance. Dr. Abbasi also informed about COMSATS Journal of Islamic Finance (CJIF) to the audience. The chief guest of the event Prof. Dr. Khalid Riaz, Dean Faculty of Business Administration, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, addressed the gathering. He highlighted the role of Islamic Finance in the context of Pakistan economy and appreciated the role played by CIF in enhancing the awareness about Islamic Finance. -

IBA RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN INITIATIVE (RCI)/Social Internship RCI Objective The ‘esposile Citize iitiative ‘CI/Soial Itership provides a opportuit for eah IBA student to gain practical hands-on experience in community service. This exposure helps students in developing a sense of deep responsibility & commitment, and serves the purpose of creating awareness about the conditions/needs of the various segments of our society/community in which they spend their entire adult life. The idea is to provide students a platform to serve the community and utilize their knowledge/skills for the betterment of marginalized strata of society. Eligibility Undergraduate students of all programs (BBA/BS) are eligible to carry out their Responsible Citizen Initiative (RCI)/Social Internships any time between their 2nd semester and 7th semester of undergrad study. This internship will not be a substitute for the regular work/corporate internship and should preferably be completed before the start of the fourth year of studies (i.e. enrollment in 7th semester). Students going for semester exchange programs OR semester breaks (for some genuine reasons) can complete their RCI/Social Internship any time during their four year period of studies, after intimating the Career Development Centre of the appropriate reason via email at [email protected]. Selection of Organizations During RCI/Social Internship, students are required to work on various social welfare projects with recognized and registered NGOs/organizations/social enterprises having a demonstrated track record. A list of some of the recognized organizations (presented at the end of this document) can be referred to for the purpose. However, please note that the CDC has shortlisted these organizations based on its internal criteria. -
