Written, directed and performed by Rick Miller, Boom is an explosive solo performance that documents the music, culture and politics that shaped the Baby Boomers (1945-1969). Boom takes us through 25 turbulent years, and gives voice to over a 100 influential politicians, activists and musicians. It’s a mind-blowing experience for audiences of all generations. NOVEMBER 6-11, 2018 Ed Mirvish Theatre, 244 Victoria Street, Toronto Forever Tango features fourteen world-class tango dancers, one vocalist and an on- stage eleven piece orchestra, including the instrument of the tango, the bandoneon, in an evening that celebrates the passionate music and dance of Argentina. The dances, performed to original and traditional music, are the result of collaboration between each couple and director/creator Bravo. “The tango is a feeling that you dance,” says Bravo, “a story you tell in three minutes. It’s passionate, it’s melancholic. It’s tender, violent. You dance it with somebody – but it is so internal, you dance it by yourself. This new Canadian production will be directed by Randy Johnson (the playwright and director of the Tony Award-nominated Broadway production of A Night With Janis Joplin), with musical staging and choreography by Tracey Flye (resident director of the Toronto productions of We Will Rock You and Once) and musical direction by Mark Camilleri (musical director for the the Toronto engagement of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax).
