This takes into account all matches played in the League since 2003, up to the end of the 2018 season. Each year we will add another chapter! The records comprise of some fantastic achievements over the last two decades, and certain individuals have certainly played a lot of cricket! This is a great testament to the popularity and the success of the KRCL over this period. There is also a detailed section for each club containing specific milestones. I’m delighted to even see my name in the Sidcup section – I remember that day very well! For the observant reader, you will note that the Kent Regional Cricket League was actually founded in 2010 when the existing East and West Kent Feeder Leagues merged. The current records go back to 2003, and in time hopefully we will be able to dig out additional records from before this period. Records show that the league officially started in 1974 and was known as the Mid-Kent League. This ran until 2000, when there was a split and the West Feeder League started. In 2001, the Mid-Kent changed its name to the East Kent Feeder League and the recent history since then is well documented. Over time, we will try and add to these amazing records, but we will probably need your help. Tracking down old scorebooks is not an easy job, so if you come across any, Andy and myself will be delighted to hear from you. Going forwards, please ensure that your scorecards are loaded correctly and containing all the facts and figures. This will help us achieve an even better history of the League over future seasons. All that leaves me to say is a HUGE thank you to Andy Lynch for his amazing work in compiling this document. Please thank Andy if you get a chance, I know many people are keen to see records such as these – I’m sure I will be highlighting the Sidcup CC entry on social media in due course! Brian Smith Kent Cricket League Administrator Chairman - Kent Regional Cricket League 8 Editorial ‘Enjoy the game and chase your dreams. Dreams do come true!’ – Sachin Tendulkar. ‘Cricket is the onlky sport in the world where you are absolutely horrible at something and you still need to go out and do it’ – Harsh Bogle. Whichever end of the spectrum you fall into between Harsh and Sachin, I hope there’s something for everyone in this inaugural edition of the records for the Kent Regional Cricket League. It’s been a little easier than a similar exercise that has been run on the Kent Cricket League, given that the bulk of scores (in fact all since 2003) are available on Play Cricket. As Brian says though, we may look to take the records back further, so anything clubs can do to assist in this with old records, scorebooks etc. would be gratefully received! In reading this, it should be borne in mind that the probability of errors (which I have obviously sought to avoid) is very high, given the level of manual work that has taken place. I will also confess that much took place in evenings during the Winter and was not always conducted in entirely teetotal conditions. Should you spot such an error, then could you please; a) Not shout at me. b) Contact me to let me know of the correction needed by either of the means shown below. I hope this is of interest anyway, and whether you are a Little Master or a little cr#p, I wish you the very best of seasons in 2019.
