In 20 meetings between the two teams in 2018 Series Information the LumberKings split the season series 10 games apiece. In the all-time series, going back to 1982, the Snappers All-Time Series (1982): lead 220 games to 257. Since the LumberKings have been a Seattle Mariners affiliate, 2009, Clinton trails 77 Beloit leads, 220-257 games to 80. Since 2009 (SEA): LumberKings Starter: Ray Kerr, 23, makes his second start of the season for the LumberKings. The left- hander last pitched April 9th against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and logged just three plus innings in an Beloit leads, 77-80 eventual 10-4 loss. Kerr than missed his next start due to a blister on his throwing hand. An issue that has subsided in the two weeks since his last start. Kerr has appeared in just two games in his professional career, his 2018: Clinton leads, 2-0 (of 18) season debut in 2018 and a one inning relief outing in 2017 with the Arizona League Mariners. The California In Clinton: Clinton leads, 2-0 Seattle Mariners (Majors) native was signed as a free agent by the Seattle Mariners in 2017 out of Lassen Community College. In Beloit: Series tied, 0-0 American League (West) Snappers Starter: Wyatt Marks, 22, makes his third start f the 2018 season for the Beloit Snappers. He comes One-Run Games: Clinton leads, 1-0 11-8 3rd 2.5 GB th into the assignment as the 25 best prospect in the Oakland Athletics according MLB Pipeline. Marks earned the Extra-Innings: Series tied, 0-0 Last night: W, 9-7 vs. Texas win in each of two starts this season. In his last outing, he scattered seven hit, for the most part, and held the Kane Cano (SEA), 3-5, R, HR, 2 RBI County Cougars to a single run on a home run. Although Marks has made nine of his 15 professional appearances 2018 Meetings: Mazara (TEX), 2-4, R, 2B, BB, K as a starter, the A’s view his future in the bullpen where enjoyed most his success during his collegiate career. The Louisiana native attended Louisiana-Lafayette, where he flourished in the bullpen after mixed results as a Bradford (TEX), W, 2 IP, R, BB, K Date Location Result/Time starter. Marks led all Division I pitchers with a 15.17 strikeout per nine inning ratio and had the lowest hits per 4/20 CLINTON W, 9-5 th nine inning ratio in the nation. The Oakland Athletics then selected him in the 13 round in the 2017 draft and 4/21 CLINTON W, 5-4 Mariners Minor League System signed him to his first professional contract for $110,000. Look for an aggressive low 90’s fastball that works off 4/22 CLINTON 2:00 PM a “hammer” of a curve ball, his best offering according to scouts. 4/27 at Beloit 6:30 PM 4/28 at Beloit 4:00 PM Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A) No Question About it: Going into Saturday night’s game, the LumberKings were a half game up on the Cedar Pacific Coast League 4/29 at Beloit 2:00 PM Rapids Kernels in second place. The anomaly came about due to the Kernels higher winning percentage due to 6/15 at Beloit 7:00 PM Pacific Conference (North) playing fewer game than the LumberKings. The issue was put to rest Saturday with the LumberKings 5-4 win 6/16 at Beloit 7:00 PM 8-8 2nd 4.5 GB and the Kernels loss to Kane County. Clinton holds first place entering Sunday’s matinee by a game and a half. 6/17 at Beloit 2:00 PM 7/6 at Beloit 7:00 PM Last Night: L, 8-4 vs. Sacramento th Finally: It wasn’t until the 12 game of the season that the LumberKings finally got into the three bagger column 7/7 at Beloit 7:00 PM Perkins (TAC), 3-5, 2 R of the stat sheet. Eugene Helder led off the bottom of the third inning with a triple off the wall in right. Helder’s 7/8 at Beloit 2:00 PM Duggar (SAC), 3-5, 2 R, 2B, RBI, K triple was the first by a LumberKing in 2018, the last team in the Midwest League to triple. 7/9 at Beloit 7:00 PM Suarez (SAC), W, 5.2 IP, 3 R, 3 K 8/15 CLINTON 6:30 PM Leading the League: After a three-game hiatus from the long ball, the LumberKings have smashed three home 8/16 CLINTON 6:30 PM runs over their last two games. Adding to the total Saturday night was Ryan Costello who hit a dramatic game 8/17 CLINTON 6:30 PM Arkansas Travelers (Double-A) tying home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Costello has now homered in consecutive games, the second Texas League (North) LumberKing to do that in 2018, and has given Clinton 12 home runs as a team for the season, most in the Midwest League. The clout has also raised the team slugging percentage to .398, also, best in the Midwest League. 7-7 T2nd 1.0 GB Last Night: *RAINED OUT* Trouble in Paradise: The LumberKings again failed with the bases loaded in the 5-4 win on Saturday night. In the fifth inning, the LumberKings loaded the bases and again came away with nothing to show. The team batting Modesto Nuts (High-A) average with the bases loaded has dropped to .222 and the LumberKings have gone a collective 0-for-their-last- 9 at-bats with the bases full. California League (North) 6-11 4th 4.0 GB Bullish Bullpen: In the top of the fifth inning on Saturday night Adonis De La Cruz served up the first home run Last Night: L, 6-5 vs. San Jose by the LumberKings bullpen in 2018. The A’s selected Marks in the MWL Eastern Division 13th round and then signed him for $110,000. The A’s view his future as being in the bullpen where he uses a low Everett Aquasox (Rookie) 90’s fastball to work off a “hammer” of a curve ball. Dakota Chalmers ranks at 30 on the list, the Georgia native W-L GB Northwest League (North) has struggled with his control during his professional career.
