There will be a short business meeting at which time the nomi- nating committee will announce its proposed slate of officers and directors for the upcoming year. This will be followed by a special presentation by historian George Tyson, a lifetime member of the society and a professional historian who has written widely on Vir- gin Islands and West Indian history. Tyson will provide the group with a brief update on the current status of the St. Croix African Roots Project and mainly focus on information in the project’s “St. Croix Population Database” per- taining to St. Johnians and St. Johnian families (particularly the Finch family), living on St. Croix from 1734-1917. This is sure to be an interesting and informative evening.
