• Former finalists Stan Wawrinka and Andrey Rublev and 2012 champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga comprise the top three seeds at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha, Qatar this week.

• Since Switzerland’s Roger Federer won his tournament-leading third singles title at Doha in 2011, only players from France (Tsonga, Richard Gasquet, Gael Monfils), Spain (, , ), or Serbia ( twice) have claimed the Doha singles championship.

• Last year, Wawrinka contested the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for the first time since his runner-up showing in 2008. He fell to eventual champion Bautista Agut in the quarter-finals.

• 15 players won their first ATP Tour singles title in 2019, which is the most first-time winners in a season since 1999, when there were 16. Four of those first-time winners are in Doha – Tennys Sandgren (Auckland), Laslo Djere (Rio de Janeiro), Adrian Mannarino (s-Hertogenbosch), and Lorenzo Sonego (Antalya).

• Mannarino was the only first-time singles titlist of the 15 aged over 30. He had lost his previous six ATP Tour singles finals before triumphing in s-Hertogenbosch. He reached another final later in 2019, at Zhuhai.

• Jeremy Chardy and Fabrice Martin claimed the Doha doubles title in 2017, which was their first ATP Tour title as a team. Last year, they paired up to pick up two more titles and reach the Roland Garros final.
