This report provides details of the applications made and proposals for relevant schemes for the Local Priorities Budget in 2013/14 financial year. Recommendation 2. It is recommended that funding is awarded to the schemes detailed in paragraph 6. Background 3. The NW Chilterns LAF has a Local Priorities Budget of £ 49,896.03 for 2013/14 to be used to support local priorities. The current actionable Priorities are: Public transport in rural areas Public/rural transport (both availability and suitability of routeing) Traffic management focusing particularly on speeding Sports and Leisure activities Support for older people Youth activities / provision Local Access to Services e.g. libraries, health 4. The budget must be spent on expenditure relating to the financial year 2013/14, ending March 2014. 5. The devolved budget report provides details of the criteria applied to the local priorities budget. 6. Now that the Dept for Transport guidance on speed limits is finalised BCC can carry out a feasibility study on roads where a change in speed limit is requested. The cost of the study is £450 and the LAF is asked to agree funding this amount to allow Askett Road to be assessed for a 20mph limit. To achieve the best possible value for money other roads in the LAF area could be included if judged eligible and appropriate through a feasibility study. Relevant Priorities: Sports and Leisure Activities Youth activities Scheme Amount agreed Contribution to Risborough Rangers football £ 10,000 club – floodlighting scheme. N.B. This scheme has already received approval from the LAF 7. If approved the sum of all schemes above will leave a balance of £10,746 in the Local Priorities Budget. If members of the LAF have suitable schemes relating to one or more of the priorities they are invited to let the Locality Manager or their local County Councillor know of these as soon as possible. Summary of requests for funding from the local priorities budget 2013/14 8. The LAF will be informed of Transport for Buckinghamshire costings for the Traffic management related schemes listed above and invited to make funding decisions as soon as possible. Recommendation 9. The LAF is invited to note the previously approved schemes listed above and to agree the funding of new schemes listed above. 10. Further proposals for additional schemes which address one or more of the agreed Local Priorities are invited and should be submitted as soon as possible using the current application forms previously circulated to all LAF members. .
