No Hamilton head coach taking over in mid-season has EVER posted a winning record over the remainder of the season or even above a .400 winning %:

Head Coach Year W-L Pct June Jones 2017 4-2 .667 1983 1-2-1 .375 John Payne 1978 4-7 .364 David Beckman 1990 2-4 .333 John Gregory 1991 3-7 .300 2006 4-10 .286 1994 3-9 .250 2008 1-7 .125 Urban Bowman 1997 1-10 .091

 Calgary 15-0 Off a Bye: Calgary's record coming off a bye is remarkable and they are 15-0 since 2005. Their last loss after a bye came on Jul 1/05 vs Toronto and that was in Week #2 when they had yet to play that season. Calgary is 9-0 in those post-bye games on the road - over the 15 post-bye games, a rested Calgary team has outscored opponents 539-321 and by an average margin of +14.5 points. More remarkably, Calgary has not lost an in-season post-bye game since Jul 15/04 at Montreal.

 Calgary at 83% - 10 scores in 12 drives: Calgary's offensive success last game vs Montreal with either a TD or FG on 83% of their 12 possessions (10 scores) was the highest % since the CFL started tracking possessions in detail in 2008. Across the last 10 years, no team had scored more than 70% of the time on offence (BC in 2012, Montreal in 2010 - on 7 of 10 drives).

 Hamilton offence: The Ti-Cats have been strong offensively as well of late posting 7 TD drives over the last two games. Their score rate is 12 drives with either a TD or a field goal in the last 30 possessions (excludes two concedes at the end of a half) for a 40% success rate. They produced two 2nd Half TD drives at Winnipeg of 105 and 100 yards - the first included an onside punt which extended that drive (Note: Onside punts are considered as offensive attempts and thus continue a drive)).

 Calgary in Week #15: The Stamps won their last game 59-11 at home over Montreal for their 17th straight home victory. Their 59 point total matched the 4th largest in club history (club record 62 in 1994) and their second 50+ game of the year. Calgary scored either a TD or a field goal on 10 of their 12 possessions with just 2 punts and one 2-&-Out.

 Calgary into the Post-Season: The Stampeders are the only club to have already clinched their berth in the playoffs - and that makes it 13 consecutive seasons which matches their club record (1989-2001). The 13 years in a row is tied for the 7th- longest playoff run in CFL history.

 Masoli at 82% - beating a +.500 team: Last week at Winnipeg he posted a career-high 82% completion rate in the win at Winnipeg and completed his last 9 passes of the game. It was Masoli's 7th career 300+ effort and the second time in his career he has beaten a club that was over .500 (Winnipeg 10-3); the other was over a 2-1 Edmonton club on Jul 23/16.

 Hamilton's onside punt recovery: Last week the Ti-Cats executed an onside kick perfectly with Jeremiah Masoli's punt from quick kick formation. Masoli's 42-yard kick was recovered by at the WPG 17. It was Hamilton's first own team punt recovery since Nov 7/15 when Derico Murray recovered a punt and advanced the ball in to the Ottawa end zone for a TD AND ... Aug 3/15 when Brandon Stewart recovered a Hugh O'Neill punt and advanced the ball in to the Toronto end zone for a TD.

So last week, despite a Sack on the next play of the series, the Ti-Cats scored two plays later to post a 105-yard drive.

 523 yards: In their last game Calgary ran up 523 yards of Net Offence for a season-high on the strength of a 216 yard rushing total.

 Lack of : Jeremiah Masoli has not thrown an in his last 3 games and has gone 110 straight passes without one. has not thrown an interception either in his last 3 games and has now gone 91 straight passes with no picks. These are the two longest current interception-free streaks in the CFL - Mitchell's TD:INT Ratio is 2.50:1 (2:67:1 for his career), Masoli's is 2.00:1 in 2017, a major improvement of his Ratio through 2016 (18 TD to 15 Ints, 1.20:1).

______2017 CFL GAME NOTES • CALGARY AT HAMILTON 1. Notes & Trends · Gm #75 · Calgary at Hamilton:

 Wins by 48+: Calgary has now recorded 2 wins this year by 48 or more points including a 60-1 triumph over Hamilton in the first meeting. That makes them the 4th team in CFL history to have TWO huge wins by 48+ points in the same season. Only Edmonton in 1981 and 1995 along with Shreveport (1995) have also accomplished that feat.

 Terry Williams: Stepped in for last game and rushed for a career-best 156 yards on just 16 carries, an average of 9.8 yards. Williams had 11 runs of 5 yards or more if you include the two rushes stopped only by the goal line on the way to scores. His 156-yard effort gives Calgary a 100-yard rusher in consecutive weeks for the first time since September 2014.

 Alex Green: Has started two games and produced 237 rushing yards for an average of 118.5 yards per game. His 237 total includes 7 runs of 10+ yards and 4 of 20+. His average is up to 7.2 yards per carry in 33 attempts.

 Coaching records - Years #1-2: Calgary's Dave Dickenson is off to 27-3-2 .875 start to his head coaching career. That is easily the best mark across any coach's first two years since 1950 and ranks as below. Among other recent coaches both Chris Jones and started their career off with 26-10 .722 marks in their first two seasons.

Head Coach Team Years Record Dave Dickenson CGY 2016-17 27-3-2 .875 Frank Ivy EDM 1954-55 25-7-0 .781 WPG 1957-58 25-7-0 .781 BC 1983-84 23-8-1 .734 HAM 1963-64 20-7-1 .732

 Mitchell All-Time QB Win Pct Updated: Bo Levi Mitchell's career winning % is now 55-8-2 .862 with a 12-1-1 .893 mark in 2017. This week Mitchell faces Hamilton who are one of three clubs winless against Calgary when he starts. The Ti-Cats are 0-8 vs Mitchell with the cumulative score in those games being 238-135, an average margin of 12.9 points. Despite this margin, 5 of the 8 games have been decided by 6 points or less. In fact, the 59-point edge in the last meeting (60-1) was greater than the other 7 game margins combined (+46 points).

In those 8 starts vs Hamilton, Mitchell's passing statistics are: 164-of-250, 2035 yards, 8 INTs and 9 TD passes. Of Mitchell's 42 career interceptions, 8 have been against the Tiger-Cats - only Edmonton (11) have more picks vs Mitchell.

 Hamilton's playoff chances: The Ti-Cats kept their hopes alive with their finest win of the season last week at Winnipeg. They outscored a typically 2nd-half strong Bombers team 14-3 to win by 17 points on the road (30-13). It was the largest away win for Hamilton in 2017 and their third straight victory away from Tim Hortons Field.

Ottawa's win in Vancouver last week means that a REDBLACKS win this week and a Hamilton loss in this game would result in their elimination from the playoffs - so this is a must win game. If they do not make it into the post-season it will be the first time since 2010 to be out in back-to-back years.

 13 Turnovers Made: The Stamps are averaging less than one Turnover per game in 2017 on pace for a CFL record 17. The CFL record is 23 committed by BC in 2012, the Calgary record is 26 in 2016. Calgary leads the CFL with a +23 T/O Ratio and they are +14 in their last 7 games. Since 2013, Calgary has an incredible +83 T/O Ratio finishing no lower than #2 in the CFL.

 All-time FG% Leader: Over the last few weeks, the all-time CFL rankings for career FG% has undergone significant change. Calgary's has now taken over as #1 all-time - and that is due in part to his current streak of 18 straight FGs made and moved him to 91.7% in 2017 (44-of-48) and a career mark of 86.8%.

 Rene Paredes: Comes into this game with a current streak of 18 consecutive FGs made. In that streak, Paredes is 4-of-4 from 40 yards and out - he has now made 39 of his last 41 FG attempts.
