All the long history of the Academy is inseparably connected with the establishment and development of national scientific medical schools, training of medical personnel, therapeutic and prophylactic activity. The Academy's authority is confirmed by the work of many generations of teachers and staff. 1961 – the first foreign students at Crimea Medical Institute. 1966 – Dean Office for foreign students was organized in Institute. 1994 – an International Medical Faculty was founded in Institute. 1999 – the University began conducting English Medium training for General Medicine program (first in Ukraine, since then the CSMU became a leader of foreign students training). Medical academy named after S . I. Georgievsky welcomes you all On the basis of Government edict of Russian Federation No 1465-р of 04.08.2014 the university is affiliated to the federal state autonomous educational institution of higher education “Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky” as a structural subdivision “Medical Academy named after S.I. Georgievsky”. Faculties of Medical Academy 1st Medical Faculty; 2nd Medical Faculty;; International medical faculty; Dentistry faculty; Faculty of Pharmacy; Postgraduate faculty. Students Body of the Medical Academy (as at December 12, 2019) At present 1800 foreign students from 48 countries around the world are studying at Medical Academy. The students body is mainly presented by citizens some of the major countries below along with 42 other countries of the world. University has created a continuing medical education model including: pre-university training - preparatory department, preparatory courses; five faculties in training for doctors-specialists and pharmacists - 1st medical, 2nd medical, international medical, dental, pharmaceutical; faculty of training medical employees of the highest qualification and additional professional education (APE) –educational programs for interns, residents, masters, refresher training and professional retraining. 38 out of 50 departments of the Academy study clinical medicine. Spacious academic lecture halls and comfortable rooms for life and study - all this provides a comfortable living and learning environment for students of our university Classrooms and research laboratories at the departments of the Medical Academy of our university are equipped with modern complexes of microscopic and multimedia equipment allowing to provide full access to macro and micro-objects for studying the normal and pathological structures of organs and tissues of the human body which has based on micro- preparations of our own production The university developed a comprehensive approach to organizational, scientific and methodological support of the educational process. Education level in Academy meets all requirements of modern medical institution by introducing educational films, molds, phantoms, diagnostic equipment in clinical departments and training center. Research work of the S.I. Georgievsky Medical Academy Scientific activities are also carried out within the scientific platforms of clinical medicine; therapy, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, occupational disease, cardiology, pulmonology, traumatology and orthopedics, dentistry, endocrinology , anesthesiology etc. Research work at the S.I. Georgievsky Medical Academy involves students, postgraduate students, assistants, associate professors and professors from all departments. Research work of the S.I. Georgievsky Medical Academy The main base for research is the Central Research Laboratory. Within the Central Research Laboratory there are departments in the main priority areas of basic scientific research: biotechnology, biopharmaceutical research , histology, immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy, experimental and clinical pathophysiology, expert pharmacology, experimental and clinical immunology, environmental risks and clinical physiology, microbiology, regenerative medicine. Research work of the S.I. Georgievsky Medical Аacademy Every year, the academy carries out more than 40 research topics, defends several doctoral these and more than 20 PhD, publishes monographs and textbooks and awards dozens of patents to its scientists. Research work of the S.I. Georgievsky Medical Аacademy Over the past four years, thanks to the development programme of the Crimean Federal University, a modern laboratory facility- molecular biology, cell technology, histology with immunohistochemistry has been created at the S.I. Georgievsky Medical Academy with all the infrastructure needed to study the human genome and other biological species to identify individual molecular genetic features associated with the onset and development of pathological processes as well as those causing structural and functional disorders. Research work of the S.I. Georgievsky Medical Аacademy The stable development of scientific schools and promising research areas is being pursued through active international cooperation with medical faculities, research institutes, scientific centers and leading laboratories in many many countries, Austria, UK, Sweden, Poland,USA, Canada, India- this is an incomplete list of our partners in joint scientific programmers. Scientists of the Academy continue to actively participate Professor Konstantin Efetov, PhD in biology and in international congresses and head of the Department of Biological Chemistry, and conferences at the highest level. In Biology Professor Gerhard Tarman from Austria are addition, clinical trials of new medicine conducting research on DNA, proteins and pheromone molecules of living organisms that inhabit continue under international contracts the earth. with leading pharmaceutical firms. The Campus Over 2,000 students and postgraduates, primarily foreign citizens, are accommodated in the six hostels of the Academy (total area about 30,200 m2) campus. The hostels are situated in a picturesque place near municipal park and nearby the teaching blocks of the Academy. These are modern comfortable blocks of flats per 2-3 persons in each apartment. Currently students from 45 countries are studying at our Academy. We aim to offer our students an excellent education experience working closely with our university partners to ensure the quality of our education is of a very high standard. The high level of our students’ education The high level of our students’ education is provided by a strong teaching staff: about 600 experts including 380 PhD and 99 Doctors of Sciences (academic title: Associate Professor - 202, Professor - 76). A review of existing data regarding the area of Kosovo and Metohia is given. Through research, the presence of 48 species was revealed. Between them, five species are reported as new for the fauna of Kosovo and Metohia: Plagodis pulveraria (Linnaeus, 1758), Scotopteryx luridata (Hufnagel, 1767), Catarhoe cuculata (Hufnagel, 1767), Anticlea badiata (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) and Anticlea derivata (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775). P. KANDUL received 6.VI.1997 Summary: The following haploid chromosome numbers are found in the Crimean taxa of Agrodiaetus: A. poseidon krymaeus (Sheljuzhko, 1928) (n = 26, asymmetric karyotype with 7 big chromosomes); A. damone pljushtchi (Lukhtanov & B udashkin , 1993) (n = 67, asym metric karyotype with two macrochromosomes) and A. ripartii budashkini (Kolev & de Prins , 1995) (n = 90, asymmetric karyotype with two macrochromosomes, one of them is always bigger than the other). As a result of the karyotype analysis the following taxonomic changes are proposed; A. pljushtchi (Lukhtanov & B udashkin, 1993) is considered as a subspecies of A. damone (Eversmann , 1841) and A. budashkini (Kolev & de Prins , 1995) as a subspecies of A. ripartii (Freyer , 1830). It is suggested that A. poseidon poseidon (Herrich -Schaffer [1851]), with n = 19 and symmetric karyotype exists in the Crimea. The genus Agrodiaetus Hubner , [1822] is a very difficult group for taxonomists as there are many species which are very close and a lot of them are prone to considerable geographic and individual variability.

Newark, New Jersey. It is fundamental in our purpose, and our express desire, that in the appointments to the staff and faculty, as well as in the admission of workers and students, no account shall be taken, directly or indirectly, of race, religion, or sex. We feel strongly that the spirit characteristic of America at its noblest, above all the pursuit of higher learning, cannot admit of any conditions as to personnel other than those designed to promote the objects for which this institution is established, and particularly with no regard whatever to accidents of race, creed, or sex.
