Guess what? We have just celebrated our 18th anniversary. Those who try things we recommend are rewarded. We have stayed in business for one reason and that is we have never attempted to appeal to the lowest common denominator as mainstream outlets do. At the same time we recognise that people do have different tastes and to some CMT is actually good. We also appeal to those people and offer many mainstream items in our bargain bin. But the legends and true country music are our bread butter and will always be. If you see something you think you may like but are worried let us know. If you pass our inquisition we may be able to send it on a sale or return basis. I say inquisition because if your favourite artists are SheDaisy and Rascal Flatts we certainly aren’t going to risk something as precious as Justin Trevino. By the same token we believe great music is timeless and knows no bounds. People may think chuck steak is good until they try the best rump! Recently I had the pleasure of seeing Dale Watson. Before hand I had the added pleasure of sitting in with my compatriot Eddie White (a.k.a. “The Cosmic Cowboy”) for an interview at the 2RRR Studios. Dale is a humble, engaging and extremely likeable man with a passion for tradition. -

Direct-To-Master Recording
Direct-To-Master Recording J. I. Agnew S. Steldinger Magnetic Fidelity http://www.magneticfidelity.com info@magneticfidelity.com July 31, 2016 Abstract Direct-to-Master Recording is a method of recording sound, where the music is performed entirely live and captured directly onto the master medium. This is usually done entirely in the analog domain using either magnetic tape or a phonograph disk as the recording medium. The result is an intense and realistic sonic image of the performance with an outstandig dynamic range. 1 The evolution of sound tracks can now also be edited note by note to recording technology compile a solid performance that can be altered or \improved" at will. The Object of This Paper Is to Prove That the Importance of Jaco Pastorius
What Does Donna Lee Mean? An Analysis of the Construction of Meaning in Music Uri González Uppsala Universitet Institutionen för musikvetenskap C-uppsats Ht 2004 Handledare: Lars Berglund Abstract This essay examines the construction of the meaning of bassist Jaco Pastorius’ solo on Charlie Parker’s composition Donna Lee (Pastorius 1976) according to musicologist Jean- Jacques Nattiez’ semiological tripartition theory. After the application of Nattiez’ approach, the following conclusions can be established: 1. At the time of its conception, 1976, Donna Lee represented both a big step forward in the developments of the instrumental possibilities of the electric bass. In its refusal to submit to exclusively rhythmic tasks it gradually became an increasingly soloistic voice. This arrived to the point where it actually was conceivable for a bass player to take upon a three chorus long solo on a classic jazz standard. 2. Despite this innovative spirit which drives Pastorius artistic output, his Donna Lee pays hommage to the jazz tradition and to the group of stylistic constraints that today characterize what is known as bebop. 3. The final meaning of Donna Lee and of any other musical text goes beyond its historical vicissitudes and its immanent structures. Meaning is not imposed by the exterior but is constructed by the individual mind in a perception that is creative and over-productive in a circular dialog with the environment. The essay will also make reference to the theories of musical semioticians and cognitive psychologists such as James Gibson, Robert Hatten, Ruben Lopez Cano, José Antonio Marina, among others.
