Mais trop de désaccords subsistaient sur des sujets essentiels, les flamands voulaient réaliser le concours à Ostende et les wallons à Bruxelles. La R.T.B.F. assurera seule l’organisation, et ne présentera que la partie francophone du pays dans le film d’introduction. La représentante belge sera le seul élément de compromis entre les deux communautés puisque sous un nom francophone, elle interprétera en flamand une chanson au titre anglais ! L’Italie et la Grèce faisant leur retour, le concours Eurovision enregistre le nombre record de 22 participants. Viktor Lazlo introduit le spectacle et chacune des contributions, en français et en anglais, dans un décor dont les deux éléments majeurs sont une sphère, une pyramide et de brillants éclairages. La sélection française se déroule le samedi 4 Avril. Après la berezina de la France au concours 1986, rien ne change dans le mode de sélection, si ce n’est que le nombre des chansons en lice passe de 14 à 10. Pas plus de noms célèbres parmi les participants que les années précédentes et chacun est présenté par un parrain. C’est Christine Minier, jeune coiffeuse de son état, qui remporte le ticket pour Bruxelles avec “Les mots d’amour n’ont pas de dimanche”, un titre écrit par Gérard Curci, son oncle, et Marc Minier, son frère.

Programar actividades y una rica variedad de funciones teatrales, de espectáculos, de todos los estilos, para todos los públicos, para todas las tendencias del arte contemporáneo y clásico, es el motor que empuja el complicado engranaje que mueve al PMC para en- frentar su día a día. Detrás de ese complejo engranaje hay un equipo humano que con su esfuerzo y dedicación, mejora en cada edición las actividades y los programas que se ponen en marcha.
